I didn’t act on it. It just made me mad that it even crossed my mind. I guess that’s how sick mins dungeon until they get trained differently which takes time … I’ve worked to hard to get where I’m at to throw it all away
Good for you! It will cross your mind, at least you made the right choice! When I get mad, I try to find the good, and the good here is you held your ground. I’m proud of you!
I’m a little over 5 months post op from a partial torn rotator and many others tears and issues inside my shoulder. The best advice I can give is to not drink. It does make the pain go away but when I pain goes away you forget it’s hurt and end up making it worse. At least it happened at work so they should pay for the doctor and everything. You can message me with questions about shoulder stuff or anything you need anytime! I’m us mountain time
Also you will probably need to have it in a sling and not reach above you with that arm. Ibuprofen can be alternated with Tylenol for pain and use ice 20 minutes on and off when you can
I’m proud of myself for not running to sabotage myself with alcohol. And I will message, I actually like everything else lol have lots of questions. I’m very curious I guess. At least the sober me is I’ve been doing the ice but as for any real relief… not likely because I still have to go to work and as I found out today that is a kick to the face when it comes to making the pain worse but I just can’t get any time off smh so I’m going to have to figure something else out for now to help ease the pain when I am able to our at least get it under control.
Have you tried ibuprofen? I was having wrist pain for days and finally broke down and took some ibuprofen and the pain went away almost instantly and never came back! LOL idk if that was just some random coincidence. May not work for a tear but definitely helps with inflammation. Make sure you take it with food.
Anyway, super proud of you, stay strong. That alcohol monster can be a tricky one! But sobriety is key for helping you heal up the fastest.
You can take up to 4 over the counter 200mg ibuprofen to make the prescription strength. Just don’t want to do that more than 3 times a day though. And the Tylenol you can use the 650mg extra strength but don’t go over 3gm of acetameniphen in a day. You can also try aleve (naproxen) they prescribed me that for pain before surgery. The max dose for that is 500mg twice a day. I believe it comes in 220 over the counter (I’m a pharmacy tech)
Yes I’m taking over the counter meds and keeping it iced every 20 to 30 minutes but it literally wakes me up out of a dead sleep ugh hi lol that’s why I’m awake now bla I really don’t want to take the medicine they have me it’s a narcotic and I’m not sure I am okay with talking something mood altering
It’s been a rough day with the pain I’ve been in but that just made me feel warm inside
So I finally went to the hospital yesterday. I know exactly what and how bad my shoulder is. But I’M grateful because no matter what has been thrown at me so far I am still strong and I’m still sober:100: I’m living my life to the fullest. Enjoying this community with the most amazing people I’ve ever met without meeting and everyday continuing to learn something new to keep me where I need to be. It’s an amazing thing when you let hope back into your life… because then you get to enjoy things like joy
Thank you to the people I met and talk to that helped me so far and continue to do so daily @littlemisschatterbox @Matt @Runningfree @Clarity and to many more to name. Thank you guys for being my sunshine when I felt like I was cursed with a never ending rain cloud
I’m so glad you love TS so much! I’ve said it a million times but I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without all the amazing people here. This community is really a life saver.
I hope your shoulder heals as quickly as possible! I’m sure it will heal much more quickly than it would have if you weren’t sober, just remember that when the going gets tough.
Have a great sober day
Thank you so much @Nordique . And I love this community it’s amazing and it saved my life. My shoulder or will heal in time but had I kept drinking well it only would have lead to three places I won’t be visiting any of any time soon
Thank you for everything you have done for me so far @littlemisschatterbox I’m so happy I have you to talk to and all questions you never lead me wrong and I’m so grateful
I’m glad you got it checked out. What did they say is wrong? Definitely a good time to be sober for your body to heal. You are on the good path
They said I pulled four parts of my rotator cuff and referred me to a surgeon. But you are right being sober my body will heal faster and I won’t take a chance of hurting it more then it already is
I feel healthy and like I have a new chance at life and I’m going to embrace every single day to the fullest

This definitely fits today. Road blocks are being put up and that’s fine because I indeed have the determination to fight for what I love my sobriety, my family, and my life
