Not sure what your journey is for? My name is Shelly and I am an alcoholic . Sobriety date 7-4-2018. My suggestion is 90 meetings, 90 days. Get a sponsor. Join a homegroup. Go to as many meetings as you can. Follow the suggestions . Obtain phone numbers. [Woman with women. Men with men. ] Your sponsor will guide you through the steps. Do the work. I did all of the above. Not perfectly but took each day as it came and didn’t pick up a drink. One day at a time. Stay connected.

This is a big one and will be the hardest .
Leave your old life behind you.that means enablers, friends that will still drink or use Infront of you. Old hang out where these things happen.its been the hardest thing I have ever done.including walking away from the woman I love.
With out leaving if behind me and trying to mix old life with the new lead me to drinking every time.
We must be willing to do anything to gain our sobriety.no excuses no exceptions.
Our mind is our own worst enemy , don’t let it fool you.
Congratulations on taking the massive first step, you are in the right place.the support here is amazing :relaxed:

I would completely recommend finding an online support group where you can zoom and chat about sobriety.
I joined one on Instagram, just had my first meeting this morning and it was incredible. I feel empowered, heard, supported and more importantly - not alone or ashamed anymore.
