I’m going to honour my intentions, this year, to monitor my screen-time and use it more intentionally. (My work has gotten more screeny. I have a final writing project due this year = screen time. AND, I connect with a bunch of dear sober people via screen.)
I’ve also set the intention to wander out of my “TS thread comfort zone” more this year and interact with newcomers. Those interactions meant the world to me after I signed up.

I think it’s great that you’re going to honor your personal goals. You can only do so much. Also I love that you’re going to interact more with newcomers. I love welcoming new people. Maybe, statistically, many of those people never get clean and leave just as quickly as they show up, but that isn’t everyone. I think many people who show up feel alone or hopeless, and like they don’t matter, and sometimes just being acknowledged can make a difference.
Of course this ties back to our moderator discussion, because it’s clear that every single moderator we have genuinely cares and shows that in their own personal way. That, tied in with being present here on the forum to a certain degree is something that all the potential candidates have. Maybe not all of them feel qualified or have the time to take on such a role, but just being who they are on this forum makes a massive difference. The fact that we have so many high quality people being mentioned really speaks volumes about this forum in general.
I know whoever takes on this position will be great. I have no doubts.

I love to welcome newcomers too, personally speaking i feel like i had a short while of forgetting how desperate i was when i first came here so helping newcomers for me is not only good for the soul, an opportunity to give back and make a difference its also how i keep myself humble.
