Plants are costing a fortune in my opinion. So first ever try of DIY
Your succulent and cacti collection is beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us. Has that last one you posted opened more flowers?
Are those bottom ones desert rose? I think my 2 have a long way to go.
I think I posted them on the gardening thread.
Yep thats it. First one I’ve ever gotten to flower.
I’ve had my big one for almost 3 years, never any flowers.
Wow. Doesn’t look real. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful.
This is the 2nd plant I ever bought after I moved to the desert. First time flowering. Gonna big a big one.
Been waiting on this thing FOREVER. It’s been brewing for at least 2, 2 1/2 months.
Getting antsy because as you can see, it’s etoliated a bit (getting narrow/long/wonky). Typically etoliation is due to insufficient light, but lighting hasn’t changed. So the other possible culprit - it has outgrown its pot. Granted the pot was already a bit snug when I put it in this one. So I want to repot it ASAP, but can’t do it now as I don’t want to disturb the flowering process.
Part of me kinda wants to wait until autumn, at which point I could plant it in the ground and it’ll go hog wild. But that’s a loooong time and etoliation is permanent. So maybe new pot post-flower, then into the ground in autumn 2026.
Beautiful. Can’t wait to see it bloom.
Wow!!! More beautiful than I could’ve imagined
Wooooow, that’s just so beautiful! This may be the most astonishing flower you’ve ever shown us, @TMAC.
Agreed. I love La Gordita and her flowers but this one is just so amazing. I audibly gasped when I opened the thread.
Even I was surprised. The colors, and the fact that it’s the size of my freakin’ hand!
The color looks electric
My front stoop yucca is probably one of my favorite plants I have. Definitely one of my best choices as far as pot/plant combo.
I moved it out of the greenhouse permanently back around Valentines Day, and it’s doing so well out here.
I had read that they grow noticeably faster when kept out in the open, and that seems to be holding true. I’ve already had to prune it again.

It’s sprouting its first new branch since I got it (December 2021)
