Thanks Eric! I like where I live also. I really do live in a beautiful part of the city. I never appreciated it in my addiction. It’s crazy I’ve been in Jacksonville for 20 years and I’m just now really exploring my city. I feel like addiction traps you in like a 3 mile radius at least that’s what it felt like for me. Glad those days are over

We’re due for our first monsoons of the year this week.
Yeah I just happen to get home in time it’s pouring down flash flooding warning for the next few Hours.. I remember Monsoon season when I was in Tucson but I was only there 1 year. To be honest I remember the word but don’t really totally understand what it is ? Is it because it doesn’t really rain there so when it does it’s bad !! And they call it monsoon ? I remember when it finally rained when I had been in Tucson for like months and months I was so happy .. I ran outside and being from Florida rain is extremely normal and when you don’t have it .. it’s weird
I’m sure there’s a meteorological reason for the term monsoon being applied. Best guess is because of how they form and.or because they are super intense but small and usually short-lived cells. But I’m no weather expert.
My street is the water outlet for neighborhood, the road can be under 2 feet of water if it’s bad enough.
Hell, the first year in my house (2023) we got one that brought in gumball-sized hail where the wind was strong enough that the hail was whipping in sideways. Pretty crazy to see, let alone in July in the desert.

Most people celebrate with barbecues, beer and fireworks. As my first sober Canada Day I will obviously be skipping the beer lol.
You will definitely have a better day without all that bs and you won’t feel like shit the next day.. my restaurant is closed July 4th.. I’m not sure what I’m going to do but honestly one of the AA club houses I go to is probably having some kind of cook out or something so I will find out about that.. I don’t remember what I did last 4th of July but this is my second 4th of July in sobriety or with this current sobriety
Its been to long since if been well enough to get the canoe out and float around on my local estuary. Exhusted but feels good to get some sun and sea air.
