The welcome mat for crab
Keepers go here to the live well.
They can run. They cannot hide😆
Where do the non-keepers go?
We send them back home. Toss them back over the rail. These crabs spend their lives getting caught and released until one day they are legal sized keepers.
We practiced running gear recently with no bait and a couple crab were in The pot😆
The Case of the Catch of the Curious Crab - that’s a real page turner!
This beast of a boat catches the biggest, most delicious prawns I have ever eaten.
This is kind of a strange boat small cabin right in the middle of a huge deck. Cabin placement wastes a lot of space. Its still a sexy boat! And she looks like it could handle whatever the ocean throws at it. I want to fo for a ride!
My neglected next door neighbor. I bet she has some good stories. I wonder what happened to cause all this neglect. Drugs? I bet she made a lot of money in her prime she needs some love and a bunch of money.
The gate has been hiding this from me. I love murals. This one shows the danger factor of crossing the bar. Coos bay bar is one of the least dangerous bar crossings on the coast, but its no joke. 2 port orford boats have been eaten in the last ten years. Resulting in 3 lost lives of people I knew. One of which inspired me to start crabbing. RIP Blaine. It almost took my buddy Matt 5 years ago. His rookie captain almost killed all 3 of them.
Its a big drainage and winter rains flood out and collide with the incoming tide and it can get big and nasty.
I have faith in my seasoned captain and huge vessel this year! ![]()
Beautiful mural. Be safe out there. ![]()

Out daydreaming about investments. I wonder how much?
I love these old wooden boats. They say they come to life with the fish blood. I bet this old boat has seen some fish and is full of life.
Looks like a lecture. Not sure who is lecturing who here. Very cute!
