Someone call me and make it seem like a family emergency
None of my friends or family is texting me back that can do it rn
On it got you
PM me your number
You got this! Stay strong! When I started my sober journey I opted for a club soda with lime, diet coke with lemon, or tea with lemon. All the liquids allowed me to excuse myself to go to the ladies room. But it also gives you a chance to privately collect yourself.
You arent alone. The first time i went to a wedding sober i was fine for 2 hours but then i just was soooo overwhelmed i had to leave. I didnt drink but i felt i should have been stronger. Others explained it to me that i was strong to realize what was best for me and take action.
I can report success!
I shake when I feel like relapsing bc the craving is so intense. Its a physical battle as much as a mental battle. The best thing to do is go to God. Others call it a higher power as not to exclude but I can’t bring myself to say there’s any other higher power other than The Lord our Savior. You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. YOU CAN DO THIS! say that to yourself again and again. “I have the power of God within me and I CAN DO THIS!” we all believe in you here in this community. If u need help, seek us out. First seek out God and just as he tells us, we can’t fight our battles solely. We need community. That’s how we were made. Let us help you by admitting u need us! First step in AA we admit we are powerless over alcohol and our lives have become unmanageable. When we admit this guess what we’ve done? We have taken out power BACK! U got this I believe in u. Good luck!!!
This brought tears to my eyes. Your want to not drink was stronger than your willingness to give it up.
You asked for help. You talked through it. You kept talking through it and you got the help you needed. You’re going to bed a sobriety winner tonight. Congratulations!
Tools and plans can help you succeed. Also accountability and community.
Super proud of you!
One day at a time.
She was a rockstar tonight! So proud of how she handled a tough situation so early in sobriety. You’re right, Alisa, building that tool box and strategies is so important now and always.
