A very unpleasant find. My friend found a bunch at a park by me. I was gonna go watch fireworks at that park this month…Nevermind!!!

I’m getting Large Four-Spotted Scoliid Wasp on PictureThis. I watched videos about Murder Hornets today though. They have differently colored/patterned butts I thought? (Not to be an insect snob, lol.) Did you see this? Still scary/cool! I don’t like Murder Hornets bc they’re mean to Bumbles. :honeybee:

It was big. Never seen a big thing like this. Wasps in Germany are usually wasp size. :see_no_evil:
I downloaded an app and I got 2 hits. I took 3 pictures and all gave me this.

One picture gave me the Asian hornet but only as a 2nd possible hit. I prefer wasps. :see_no_evil:

What is your wasp name in Latin?

I do see 4 spots on his little butt though. What do you think he is? :slightly_smiling_face:

I didn’t know I had one? How do I find out?

For me it is an insect. Like a thing with leaves must be a plant :see_no_evil: I am not good at determine insects.

Lol, me neither. I just let the app do all the work. :woman_shrugging:t2: I must admit that I have been identifying a lot of bugs for ppl on Reddit & it’s made me actually learn a few species though…It’s totally addicting! :upside_down_face:

Oh, so she’s a girl wasp. :female_sign::nail_care::high_heel: It’s extra exciting when I can also identify the insect’s sex. :joy:
