There’s a whole host of reasons why AI is bad but I’ll skip those for now and keep it more simple. When people come here at their lowest they don’t need some shiny polished response from ChatGPT. Just be yourself. AI doesn’t make you seem like a sobriety rockstar, it makes you look inauthentic and uncaring.

Sometimes it’s a struggle for me to find the right words. English is my second language and if I want to contribute something and can‘t say it in my own words in English, AI is a helpful tool for me.
If someone thinks I am not honest and don’t care, that is a them problem, not a me problem. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.
I am sorry if this is bothering you, but not the whole world grew up with English. And, not the whole world is good with putting thoughts and feelings into words. I appreciate if someone is here and shares, even if it’s with help from AI.

Totally understand for non English speakers and so very much appreciate the effort you all need to put forth. I much prefer messy, not english language first shares vs a generic tidied up AI message. Do what works for you.

I also do. But if I can’t get it out without a translator, I‘m grateful for the help. It’s still honest.
I worked with people with cognitive disabilities and they needed sometimes help to put their thoughts and feelings into words. AI helps them a lot.
I don’t like that AI is so generic, but I like that it gives people a chance to share something who would stay quiet otherwise.

I am a very good speaker in my native language. I even studied it at university. I like being precise about what I want to express with my language. So, sometimes I prefer a polished, maybe a little generic version over an unprecise „wischi waschi“ like we Germans say 
I really love that everyone can use language as they like and need and feel comfortable with. I don’t like when people tell each other how to use language. We may not like it, but an individual use of language can include using translators and AI.

I appreciate you sharing and speaking up. I think we all should lead with positive intent on this app and truly believe that everyone is just trying to do their best.
When I read this initially it made me think of those that might not speak English or be able to articulate themselves and use AI for help. Who am I to judge? I am a big believer in to each their own and do what’s best for you.

Maybe I’m naive, I’m reading for quite some time here and never had a thought that somebody is using AI 
.
Sometimes I doubt the honesty of a post, or I’m not ‘happy’ with a kind of tone. So I really can’t tell who’s using AI.
And Daniela: the posts I’ve read from you, never had one second to doubt your sincerity (I had to search this word because I didn’t remember exactly how to write it 
)

I’m not looking to debate this topic endlessly or to validate every potential legitimate reason someone might have to use AI. Lately I have noticed posts that were so clearly AI, with the odd bullet points and all. It came off as very disingenuous and did not sound like anything else this person has ever posted.
Regardless, I’d rather have a broken English post and know it was from the person rather than a perfectly worded post from AI. I’d also rather have drinking water left for my grand kids (fine I’ll debate a little bit)
