I heard the USA doesnt have ketchup chips either or call their winter hats, toques. Is this true?

Toques are just for chefs de cuisine in America

We just call them caps and beanies or sometimes hats I suppose

Never seen a ketchup chip this side of the border

Oh wow!!! Interesting! I wonder why that is tho… with the ketchup chips. I feel like thats a normal everyday flavor of chip! Hmmm lol

I have seen Ketchup Chips,

Winter Hats are referred to as Beanies,

And we have Tim Hortons in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania West Virginia Ohio and Michigan, not as many stores as Starbucks, which is Way over saturated i can drive probably one mile or 2.2 Kilometres for our Canadian friends in any direction from my home and find a Starbucks

I do think Tim Hortons needs better resolutions though, like their App that was tracking people even when not in use was a violation of privacy as per Canadian Govt, in exchange they offered qualified users a free coffee and a baked good, basically saying our people are sheep to us, so give them a freebie to keep them happy they’ll be back anyways

But if they overtook Starbucks I wouldn’t complain

Unpopular Opinion: I like Starbucks, I think the Pike roast is pretty good. I really like the blonde roast too. I’ve had coffee from countless brands and shops in 5 countries from 2 continents, and Starbucks is in top 5. With over 15k stores in the US, I cant be the only fan. :man_shrugging:

One mile is 1.6 kilometres dear. You’re confusing it with pounds again LOL. 1 kg is 2.2 lbs.

Kudos for trying :+1:t2::grin:

Because most of Muericans don’t know of any better :joy: Out of curiosity, what continents?

Thank you @Yoda-Stevie for this piece of information. At least the dodgy coffee isn’t wasted since Starbucks is willing to pay for it :joy::+1:t2:

In all honesty I have to say, the coffee that Finns drink on the regular is yacky. Blonde roast, very acidic, high in caffeine.

Since this thread is about Canada and I don’t want to derail LOL, let me ask you this: how do people feel about needing to learn French? I’m assuming it’s mandatory?

En Francais is mandatory in BC to grade 8 and in some provinces to grade 10. My sister put her kids in a French immersion program where it’s French all day everyday.

I have heard of ketchup chips but never seen them in the US. We must have a different name for winter hats also…

We have ketchup chips in certain smaller corner stores here in Philly. I think they’re made by Heinz

Definitely not mandatory. Some people know zero French here.

Interesting Canada fact:

Hudson Bay (that big bay in the middle of Canada) and most of the province of Quebec has less gravity than the rest of the world:

This means the average adult in Quebec weighs about 0.1 ounce less than everyone else (see fact 23 here: 70 Interesting Facts About Canada - The Fact File).

Interesting that there was another similar thread picking on Canada by OP but it’s been deleted. Probably there was too much “roasting” of USA and they had to start fresh

I am one of those people. I had to take french in elementary school but today the only words i know in french are yes, dog, cat, and hello my name is. French was never a language that seemed to stick in my head

I read that entire thread when it was on here. Lmao
