Rediscovering hobbies once sober, what were yours? 🖤

I found my creativity again about 5 days into my sobriety..so I know this will only get even more involved as time passes :joy::upside_down_face::cowboy_hat_face:

Anywho, below is a pic of all the basic bish ‘Live, laugh, love’ ‘art’ i took off my walls and painted over. I also painted a coffee/puzzle table.

I used to love painting and drawing and molding clay and dreamed of pursuing that but took the military route instead.

Feels good to focus on something with no true direction again, I need to fine tune my actual skillset back to what it was

but hey, we in thereeee.:artist_palette::splatter::grimacing:

I have always loved turning a wrench

I too like to turn wrenches. I also write and am currently working to finalize a fiction novel for publishing. Coaching baseball, although I have done that through sobriety and relapse (never on the field, only in my personal time away from my players ). My goal is to find a small college where I can be a head coach, teach construction management, write, and work on cars :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: that’s what I’ve been working towards for several years now.

I’m like you, I love drawing, sketching, painting. My job requires precise technical drawing, so it’s nice to be able to do something more ‘freeing’ in my spare time. Do you find yourself absorbed in it? That’s certainly part of the attraction for me, and having a positive output to show for my time

We have a thread for sharing our creations. I’ll see if I can link it… X

Show the artist within you (Part 3)

It must be amazing to work in something you love! And yes, I usually read or do puzzles to lock in mentally but what you said about having something positive to show for it has been addicting when creating things!

and thank you for the links! I’ve bookmarked them and am already impressed and inspired by what I’ve seen in those threads! :black_heart:
