AA is not a religious organization, but it is run by humans. It’s easy to get the impression that it is religious, because the people in AA come up with customs that originate in religious practice.

The AA General Service Office has published these pieces on the inclusiveness of the program for non Christians, non believers, doubters, free thinkers and fallen angels. These are the latest AA pamphlets, and believe me, they don’t come up with new ones too often.

I am wondering why you didn’t include Narcotics Anonymous? Seems people shy away from talking about the fellowship.

I don’t think it was anything intentional - this list is very much a work in progress :innocent: If you think there’s a group that should be included, share a link here in the thread!

Many other recovery groups and traditions have virtual / online meetings as well - search around & they can usually be found fairly easily. Happy recovery!

I originally created this list with alcohol recovery in mind, others have added additional addiction resources over time. It is not a comprehensive list by any stretch.

And I added in NA as requested.

One suggestion on a book:
The subtle art of not giving a f@&*:speak_no_evil:
By Mark Manson
Hugely helpful in my recovery and seeing all the things I give too many f’s about.
Also great chapter on values and the ways we can sometimes set our values to fail us.

Living Sober is a good book, also available as a CD narrated by recovering alcoholics. Lots of short, accessible chapters you can keep going back to.
