I just recently got back into running after a couple months off the wagon. When I started running at the beginning of the year I used a really handy “couch to 5k” app called Get Running. It has a voice coach that helps you keep track of how much time has passed and when to walk/run. I find it much easier to not have to think about how much time has passed, that way I can try to keep my head in the zone. These days I aim to run at least 25min. I use an AI training device called Vi that tells me my current run’s info (my vitals, cadence, time, etc.) periodically throughout my run.
Oh nice, thanks for sharing. I too would like someone telling me when to run, lol.
@Elisabeth i used an app like that (from 0 to 5 kilometer) and it worked very well. It is in dutch so that would be a challange for you
Haha, yeah that might be hard. It looks like the get running app is 3 bucks? I’ll keep looking.
Hey everyone! I’m getting back into running after a couple months off the wagon. Currently, I’m trying to run at least 25min/3 times a week but am aiming towards every other day. On my off days I weight train.
My biggest hurtle is my work schedule. Usually the earliest I’m scheduled to work is 9am but sometimes I have to be at work at 7am. It’s really hard for me to get up earlier than I have to just to run but I like to run first thing in the morning. After work I’m just too drained to run. Because of this I’m finding it hard to nail down a routine. I’m going to try my best to keep motivated!
Lol! Love that name, hilarious.
I’ve tried the running before work routine. It doesn’t stick, I’m just not a morning person AT ALL. I would rather suffer in the afternoons after work, but I hear ya. It’s hard after a long day when you just want to relax.
Damn runners making me feel lazy, 2 hour skate sesh open run. This hot humid CA day

Thank you. I was supposed to go talk to a counselor today but she changed it to tomorrow. So I did what I do best

@C-sun, thanks for the advice. I wasn’t going to say anything in response, but… since it’s such a large part of why I drank, I will. My daughter has special needs and has always needed more supervision than “normal” kids. My son was born with club feet. Between the two of them they have had 7 surgeries. We have seen more specialists than I can count. The first time I went out for a run with the double stroller when they were babies I got a call about having to add yet another therapist for my daughter. I remember it so vividly, how great it was to get out on that run, and then WHAM, no more me-time. I am a single mom and work full time to support my family. So if reading this thread got me motivated to go out for a very short trial run/walk, YAY me! If I had to bring my twins with me to a track it would be hell and I would just never want to go and do it. So, tonight I will go and do it again, in my own 'hood. Wish me luck!
Ack, no AC! Kettlebells are tough, my husband has one and I’m like, no thanks!
Not sure about happier, but it did feel better today
Awesome! I am trying to get back in shape as well. Just finished 2 Triathlon’s.
Nice! I have always wanted to do a tri. My cousin has done a few and we do runs together pretty frequently. Definitely on my bucket list.
Heckled? Oh hells no, not cool. Well, I think you’re a bad ass for gettin it done. Bunch of drunken losers sounds like.
There’s those sweat dreds. That’s a damn good run. I’d probably be gasping for air on the side of the road about 15 minutes in to it
I just saw Deftones and thrice last month. I would get off my ass and go do something but it’s raining so that’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it.
Haha I go to concerts a lot. My next one is “it’s not dead” fest. I can’t pass on a punk show. It gives me a reason to wear my vest
I love TOOL!!! I’ve been to several concerts including his other bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. We just saw tool in June.
Alright alright I guess I got to get off my ass and go do something now
