Today i did a personal best. Ran 5.something miles without stopping. Its fun running in nature. Way better than urban running. Tried to slow my pace to 9min/mi. It felt like i was prancing. I noticed i wanted to run faster after i got tired.
Some interval stuff this morning. I was super tired from a very productive day yesterday so I slept in and that always throws a wrench in my morning. IDK why but it makes me not want to workout. I found that interval runs are good for this time because it gets me moving and I feel great by the end
Finished the 4th of 5 races in my series this year. 10k but this one was fricken hilly. I dont like hills and hadnt trained on hills. I came out the gates hot. Ran 4mi before walk/running and the end was a rough zig zag up hill. BUT i set a new PR. Official time is 52:36 8:28/mi. Feeling proud
this long run was not great but it got done. I walked another half mile so almost 7 miles in total. I haven’t really been running with consistency. I’m thinking of signing back up with Runna. I remember I didn’t like it because it was pretty rigid but at the same thing maybe that’s what I need. Since I got my bike I almost feel like I’m falling out of love with running and into love with biking.
I got myself a new (to me) smart watch that actually has GPS etc. Very exciting. lt is cooler of late so got in my first run in at least a month, probably nearer 6 weeks. First was 3 songs, and was feeling pretty good, then two songs, feeling a bit tired, then was very tired and could only do a song at a time. But in total a good length and happy my pace was similar for all the running bits.
So I’m doing run bingo with the local run club and one of the spots was to run on a treadmill at our local community center. They have a program that lets you run in different countries. That was pretty cool
Getting back into running after a week off. My feet hurt and im thinking of seeing a podiatrist. We’ll see.
But the good news is i peeled myself out of bed and did a 30min base run
I set off for a nice and easy 3 miler in the heat, smoke, and humidity last night. But, the river is in flood stage so one of the bridges was out! Had to go another couple miles to the next bridge, ha! It was slow but I finished!
