So I decided to start a training plan on garmin, just cause. It’s the 10k training plan because I want to stick with smaller distances for now. I still have my endurance race to train for and I plan to start that next weekend. My running friend wants me to sign up for a half with her but I just don’t want to run longer distances at the moment

Do you do that right through the Garmin Connect app?

Yea, it’s under training and planning and then pick coach plans and you can pick a coach and a plan

I forgot to post my morning run. Another attempt at keeping a slower pace. Its weird my daily suggested run pace is slower so read on google i need to change target to heart rate zones. We’ll see if it lets me run faster

Not ready for a coach plan

See me struggling to keep pace lol

Are you curious about the plan or the race? I’ve done a plan with garmin before for the half distance. I think they have good plans especially since they are free. The only thing I dislike is that there are 4 runs per week and you can’t pause it. The nike app is very lenient. You can just pause the plan and skip a week but not on garmin

I just played with the coach plan but its like 6 weeks…aint got that time. I have a 10k in 2weeks  which coach did you go with?

When would the half be???

I went Coach Amy this time around. The other one I did with Coach Greg. That was last year. I can still look at the runs I did on that plan so I’m going to see how they compare lol This plan is like 17 weeks long which is fine since technically I’m not training for anything.

The half my friend wants me to sign up for is in February and in Arizona. I would need to switch to a different plan to do that and I just don’t really want to :woman_shrugging:t2:

Proud of the effort i put into this run but my wireless headphones died in the last mile and i has to raw dog it…not a fan. I was trying for a 10k to earn a garmin challenge but started too late. Now gotta rest up for a 5k monday!

Any trailrunners on here?

I dabble in trail running. I did one a few weeks ago and I have an endurance trail run in November. I actually just got a new pair of trail shoes in and I’m giving them a go this weekend

I’m more of a road runner though.

Not too shabby for getting stung by a wasp before this :grimacing: My ass is still stinging  I’m grateful though because it looks like I’m not allergic. The redness has gone down and nothing is swelling up. I got stung by a bee many years ago and I ended up in the hospital for 3 days with a very swollen face

1:57:08 in today’s half. Paynesville, MN, small town USA at its finest!

It was a difficult, hilly course but it was quite refreshing running around a lake. I didn’t totally fall apart until the last hill at about mile 12.75, haha! I just slowed down and took it easy because I have another one next Satuday. A good day, I’ll take it!
