I think it would definitely help with your goal of a 10k! I just love the workouts it pushes to your watch and guides you through. I know other apps do that, but this was the first one I used that did it, so it gets all the credit. Plus, I love the variety of workouts. I even was doing hill repeats! (There is zero elevation change where I live, so I do them on the largest interstate overpass in town!)
@Runningfree What does the Strava paid subscription get you? I just do the free one and I like it. I don’t really do any social media (except here!) so from that aspect I like it too because it gives me a bit of a connection without all the nonsense that usually goes with that stuff. It’s just people running! There are a few people in my Following/Followers group from the various races I’ve done in other states it’s linked us. So, even though I don’t really know them it’s fun to see where/what people are running in the places I often go.
Question: Is there a way to remove Followers? There’s one or two I’d prefer not to have attached to me, haha.
OK, you all are getting me excited to get back out there!
You can remove followers. You click on their name and then where it says following, click that and it will give you the option to unfollow. I’ve had to do it cause of dudes trying to be in my dms. I even updated my profile to clearly state I’m married.
It’s been a while since I upgraded to the paid strava so I’m not sure of all the differences but I know with the subscription you get AI reports kind of like Runna does and you can set goals. And they recently added this
the instant workouts- You click that and then it gives you some options- build, recovery and a few others and then it will plan a week of workouts for you. I haven’t used that part since I’m in a good routine currently but I might check it out in the future.
I see that’s a considerably slower pace than your last run. But the HR was way down. Did it feel weird? I grew to like the different paces/heart rates. It’s almost like an entirely different sport.
Definitely it felt odd I had to check my watch quite often and slow down to keep hr onder 140. I can’t say i don’t like it, it just feels weird to move like this, it’s new.
My plan is to run in zone 2 once a week and once intervals. Running two times in a week is not much but i want to add other things - one day strength training with kettlebells (at home), one day swimming (and sauna ) and one day hyrox training. I sign for a test training next Wednesday, if i like it i want to make it every week thing. Very curious about all that Hyrox.
Valentine 5K race The plan was an easy run as recovery from yesterday’s long run but we all know how races make us speed up So I did a walk as needed kind of run. The headwind was rough but other than that this was a solid run!
I’m slowly coming back, I think. I ran on Monday and I’m going to run again this Monday. Just short distances, try and keep it fun.
It’s weird. I have some physical things going on and a serious illness in my family, in addition to my normal worries. I have a tendency to obsess about running, so I needed to take a break. Plus I had the long streak of doing races that was kind of becoming a burden. Maybe not. I don’t know. Sometimes I think I need things like that. Ha, that’s a whole other subject.
But, I’m finding I just don’t do as well without running. So, time to come back. I’ve been doing some other things at the gym, which has been nice.
