Running in Recovery in 2024-2026

I skipped my long run last week and didn’t post my run yesterday cause it wasn’t a good one. This one was solid and with no walk breaks. It was already 75F when I started  I’m ready for winter running

It’s time for new shoes? Already?

I doubled extended max use of my last Hokas (did 1200+km). I don’t like to buy new stuff if the old one still works fine. They were fine (until they weren’t ), maybe because I’m rather lightweight runner and I’m not running long distances, I run between 5-10km. My personal rule is new running shoes at ~1000km. I break that rule if I’m broke

Oh i should totally start using that feature. Did you set the 350mi or is that the recommendation?

It’s automatically settled by Garmin.

I think that was the default setting, but it can also be adjusted.

Good morning sober runners

My chatgpt plan overestimated my endurance because of my 5k race pace the other day! It wanted me to run 3mi at 7.4mph. I did need a walking break but i didnt quit and did a few over 4mi threshold

This was a very rough struggle bus run but I got it done with the run/ walk method and my current plan is over  I have my 5k sunday tomorrow and then I’ll be on a running break for the week and a new plan will start next sunday. I’m trying to decide if I want to downgrade from the half I signed up for to just the 10k. I’m not sure I want to do long distance stuff anymore

5K sunday :face_with_bags_under_eyes::woozy_face: I’m just happy it got done. The fireworks didn’t stop until almost 2am. And I’m not talking about baby ones. It literally sounded like a cannon was going off. My body is sore and I’m so tired. I knew I had to knock this out before sunrise though or it would have gotten too hot

Rain, rain, rain here, so long time no run. It was cloudy, which I thought would help, but felt like I was running through mud. Managed 3 songs at the beginning (not on graph as it has been so long since I used my sport watch the gps had forgotten itself), then it was run one, walk one if I was lucky.

Congratulations on finishing your plan!

That’s better! Not sure if it was having a more substantial breakfast, or taking a cooling towel that helped. Was still a struggle at the end!
