Running in Recovery in 2024-2026

I can’t wait for cooler weather! Haley woke me up at like 230 to go to the bathroom so I just stayed up and did my run before the sun even thought about coming up

Me again :woman_running: I took a few walking breaks but not a ton  I found this runner affirmation playlist and it was really great for some mental help

Me again, I did not mean to speed this up but also I’m not mad about it. There was a tease of fall weather with the 68f temp.

Struggle bus 10k run/walk today. I was training just fine but went on vacation last week and detrained. I was gonna sign up for a 10k today but decided after all the stress and rest i would just attempt it solo. A few things that threw me off

  1. Locked my keys in the car
  2. Walked after 2mi running
    3.started too fast
  3. Heartrate too high
  4. Shoelace came untied
  5. Tried new gu chews with caffine for the first time and meh
  6. Aaa guy was early but atleast that helped me finish the last mile!

So im glad i showed up but checkout this mess

Man, those are a lot of obstacles :grimacing:

I’m not a fan of the gu gels / chews. We recently tried SIS brand and other than me having a really hard time opening them, they are great. We also use the huma gel but I think the sis gives me a better energy boost

It’s deload week for me  My longest run is like 5 miles. This was pretty difficult but I’m proud of myself for pushing and not giving in to a walk break during the km

When do you do a deload week?

Runna programs it in every 5ish weeks. I only have 17 miles this week. Last week was 24ish and next week is back to normal with 26

Solid “long run” That running affirmation playlist has been on repeat for all my runs recently

Done early before the sun came up :sign_of_the_horns: I feel like I do so good without music. It forces me to focus on my breathing. I just know I can’t run long distances without a distraction

Haha, I think 6 miles is easier!

Dropping 2 run stats. The 6 miles was yesterday and the tempo one was today. Yesterday felt really solid and today was hard and hot. But I’m proud for getting both of them done :confetti_ball: Today it was 77F and that was before the sun even came up. I have no plans on leaving the house for the rest of the day :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

No walk breaks today :sign_of_the_horns::sign_of_the_horns: This was pretty solid after yesterday. I had a very rough time in Cloudcroft. I thought about quitting so many times but I didn’t and I finished all 9.5 miles. I fell twice and almost twisted my ankle and my body is really sore today but I didn’t quit so yay for that

holy shit this was hard!! 20 intervals :exploding_head::exploding_head: I tried to hit all of them but I missed the mark on some. I’m satisfied with the work I put in though
