These are all great ideas!
I’m starting to really enjoy the extra time and energy that I have and I can’t wait to see all the new things I’m going to enjoy sober.
I’ve learned to crochet. Wanted to for years but never took the time. I’ve also bought some woodworking tools. I want to learn to carve. Not sure how that’s going to go but I’m gonna try it
I’ve started learning claw-hammer banjo, it’s so much fun.
Also, just more ‘crafty’ in general, I made an advent calender, and Christmas wreaths for my neighbours and built a mini summer house for my cat.
Also got more into cold water swimming this year, I’ve liked it for a few years, but definitely more committed this winter.
That’s over a few months of attempted sobriety.
I’ve started to learn to program when I was still drinking. That didn’t work… Now getting back to it all fresh and clear headed. Hope to become a digital nomad one day and work from a tropical beach… A girl can dream right
Yeah now I only have to watch each episode once! lol
I’ve really gotten into exercise and health. I’ve found that besides actually working out, eating healthy and trying to live a healthy lifestyle take a lot of time and attention. So that really helps me stay occupied and keeps the boredom away.
Wohoo! I came on to write that I started crocheting after 20 years’ pause… And found a fellow crocheter on the thread! I’m amazed how much satisfaction I get from making things myself! Especially when there’s no pressure from getting a grade from a teacher, lol.
I had to Google what that was, after looking at it for 5 minutes
. It just looks like a craft type of hobby. I really enjoy making them.
It looks so weird if you don’t know what it is Well done though
Lol i guess i should’ve been more specific on what it was. I see why it would be confusing. And thank you
I read, cook, cross stitch and this March during first lockdown in the uk I taught myself to stained glass…
I hear crocheting is easier than knitting. I should look into it!
I think everyone in the family will end up with something I love learning new stitches
I love this! I may look into trying it too
Xbox …Forza Horizon …driving cars badly and owning the ones that I will never be able to in real life , It may be an escape from reality but at 59 years of age and sober for 1553 days I deserve to have a little fun ( a lot actually ) and its also a way to re engage with my boys no matter where I am in the world #your-story #life-in-recovery #family #uncategorized
Awesome I’m 53 and been telling my wife I want a xbox or playstation
Your stained glass is beautiful!
I noticed i had to re-watch shows by myself to catch up to where my husband was… He remembered, i didn’t
Me too!! It was so embarrassing
