66cm x 66cm oil on canvas.
I’ve been feeling a bit down in the dumps about my work being rejected for an open exhibition recently. Just trying to focus on enjoying the materials and the colours. I love the way my house smells of oil paint.
This a beautiful…I love the colors
Sorry you didn’t get into the exhibition. Don’t let that discourage you…you have an amazing eye and wonderful work. Hope your art will be seen and appreciated by others soon
I carve. I use to have a carving studio, and Im working towards that again.
Anyways, I got told no by a local gallery and I felt my work was better than some of the sculptures they had in there. I was offended.
I learned that they didnt want any competition for that artist.
don’t get discouraged.
That’s awesome!
Please don’t ever be down about what is so subjective and personal. I’m certain a thousand people could argue the merits and demerits of a million gnat’s knacker different shades of white. It’s important that you go deep and feel your work.
This one gives me Yu Gi Oh vibes. There are two men, anime style, posturing in front of a camera, pre fight. For some reason I thought immediately of David Bowie also. So for me, this captured a sense of movement and people, maybe exhibitionism and playful show.
Keep your chin up
“When memories of Marrakech turned to thoughts of you”
Sometimes a title comes to mind as I’m working. That happened with this piece.
It’s absolutely beautiful and I love the title
That is very moving. It pulled me in and I felt like I was in the scene, walking through it, breathing the air.
You’ve done brilliant work with texture and colour
That’s so wonderful to hear Matt. Reading your words has made me realise afresh that it’s all about connection.
Still a lot has to be done like sand it and polishing and at the end set the stone.
So work in progress
But here is my silver pendant in the making:
