So emotional

Just a roller coaster of emotions. Sad, mad, disappointed, resolved and determined all before lunch

Sounds like you’re feeling what’s underneath. It’s hard. Take a moment and breathe. Take a walk. Let it all flow over like a wave. It will slowly transform into something else.

All totally normal in early sobriety!

Ever dive into a pool on a hot day, or jump in the shower on a chilly morning? Dive in the pool and the water feels super cold. Jump in the shower and the water feels scalding hot.

But in a few minutes, both feel good.

The water in the pool didn’t get warmer, and the water in the shower didn’t get colder? What changed?

You changed. You became acclimated to the water, not the other way around.

So now you’ve jumped into sobriety. It feels uncomfortable. You are dealing with situations that overwhelm your emotions. Give it time, and you will acclimate to sober life.

You will have good days and bad, just like you did when you were drinking. But you’ve changed. You are getting better, and you will acclimate to this new life…and it will make all the difference in the world.

Say “no” to the drink that matters…the first drink.

Keep getting better at getting better each and every day.

I feel this way a lot too. It’s only been two weeks. Some days are definitely better than others. I hope your day gets better☺

Agreed with @LuckyStar and @Redemption please post as much you like-it’s encouraged.

I’ve been there, like every other day lol my emotions are up and down, but it’s easier to just go with it now that I’m sober. I like the mix of emotions you listed, you’re looking at things from all angles, I can relate to this a lot.

Cryotherapy. I use it to help with my winter blues. I swim more in the winter than I do in the summer, in an indoor pool that isn’t very warm.

I also end every shower with 30 seconds of cold water. Feels great.
