That’s something to be immensely proud of! Not only having the natural god-given talent and skill required of an Olympic-caliber athlete, but also the hard work and unrelenting dedication it takes to get the most of that talent and reach such a level.
I haven’t been into sports at all either. With COVID and the state of this country, and there just seems to be more important things going on. I forced myself to watch football this year just for some semblance of normalcy. I’m glad I did too. But personally I don’t think they should be playing college ball. Covid petrie dish. NBA did a pretty good job in the bubble. Be interesting to see how it goes now.
I haven’t been into sports during covid either. I used to LOVE nba, college, and street ball in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Basketball then was different. The entire game was different then. We had mj, reggie miller, patrick ewing, Larry johnson ,kobe, just to name a few I could go forever. Then there was 2003 draft class with melo, lebron, and wade. Best years for basketball. Jason williams was my fav. Player of all time by far. Nba seems to be going back into the right direction though I think. Sorry this post is so speratic. My first time posting about basketball and there is soooo much info I want to post hahaha
Did you see the video at the beginning of this topic I posted? The way they played basketball back then. It wasn’t for sissies. It’s about the 13 post on here. Brings back memories. Lots of great talent out there this year. And IMO no super teams. Should be a fun season.
Oh and congratulations on your one week AF. This is a great place to get that extra support we all need. Lots a great nice people on here just trying to not take that first drink. Hope to see you around.
the saints running back kamara was a one man show today. He tied the NFL all time record with six rushing touchdowns in a single game. I’m a bills fan but bravo saints see you in the super bowl
Good winter sports Sunday here. The ladies just started their WC cyclocross in Dendermonde Belgium. In 75 minutes the men will follow with a much anticipated clash between the two best one day riders in road cycling who are the best cyclocrossers in the world too, Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert. Classic Holland vs. Belgium .lineup.
The there’s also speed skating, qualifyers for the world championships. because the Dutch are so strong at this it’s almost a world championship in itself. I’ll enjoy while outside the wind blows and the rain falls.
I love a good upset too. But not at the expense of the Rams last week
That’s why I don’t bet. I always take the underdog. Even way back when I was a Smokin Joe Frazier fan over Ali. @I.cant.We.can
For some reason I didn’t think you were Canadian Brian. Not that it matters. My ancestors from England France and Ireland came in through Quebec. Growing up north of Boston I had to hide my Montreal Canadian fandom over the Bruins. I mean Bobby Orr and the Bruins were always my first. Rumor has it Réjean Houle of the Canadians, back in the early 70’s, when the Mahovlich brothers played, is a distant cousin. Whatever the hell that means.
Oh… anyway I thought you were in upstate New York.
No matter.
