Yes! Like how nice is it that we’re able to just take that time and get the recovery we need? Meaning recovery in its broaded sense here, not necessarily related to drinking/ using. We all have points of time in our lives where it is just not an option… So when we do have the option we should make the most of it, if it’s what we want to do.
I get that there is balance to be had, where if you find yourself always stuck in bed and not looking after yourself as a result, that is different. But finding and enjoying comfort is no bad thing!
Rain & windstorm on a cold Sunday morning… 4 degrees Celsius (39F). Started the day with a great Zoom meeting; someone had several years and it was so great to hear their story and all the members sharing wonderful words about them. Tree is up. Little guy decorated most of it yesterday. I know it’s early but Christmas is a tough time since both my parents have passed recently, so I find the lights and ambiance give me comfort and memories; still a bit sad and miss my home province desperately, as I have no blood relatives here. But I have my little guy. Now we are watching Muppet Christmas movie. I love Muppets. There has been a few hundred questions by my 5 year old, in the first few minutes Just like me when I was little, my folks would say… Have a nice Sunday, all
Super blustery cold day here! I really feel for those folks at the store who put my groceries in my trunk. They’re working super hard for their pay today. Made it back home, put things away, warming up with some tea before I start cooking albóndigas, or Mexican meatball soup. I’m going to take my time, though. I’m moving a bit slow today.
@Salty I love it, all of it, including the Muppets! I especially like those snowflakes on your mantle. I have slowly but surely “turned” my grinch husband over the years and he actually brought up decorating for the holidays this year before I did! Shock and awe! We’re going to get started next weekend.
Thanks The snowflakes are stocking holders that I bought a few years ago at a bargain shop… sparkly fake gems in them. Nice & tacky like me
I do need to clean up the mantle too but was rushed getting the stuff out yesterday. My old pup’s ashes are in a lovely engraved wooden box on the left of the mantle. I was to bury it by a tree but I can’t seem to part with it. I may keep it inside so he’s always close to me
I don’t think my hubby was too keen to decorate early but I think he was outnumbered with me & little guy
We got Lady’s ashes in a tube container thing so we could scatter them, but we haven’t been able to so far. The plan was to take them to the beach but they are sitting happily by the fireplace.
We have Canadian geese too. They have infested the capitol area. Really aggressive and unafraid of people. Poop everywhere, some parks are so littered with it that you can’t even walk there. Yay.
It’s hard, isn’t it? I had full intentions to put him by one of his favourite “chippy” trees where’d he’d sit under and stare up waiting for the chipmunks to chase lol. But I think I’ll keep him in the house for now
