I had this happen to me once renting a duplex years ago, the rental agency was well aware I had a drumset prior to moving in and I had lived there for 2 years I received a written complaint from the agency because they were trying to show the place below me to a new tenant. I didn’t respond well to it and it effected me wanting to play cause it was basically just bullying, the way I see it you pay for your place and you have a right to do what you love as long as you are doing it within means of the consideration others. Letting your agency know that she is being unreasonable I think would be a good choice to go man and yes pound that bass
Good on ya, brother!
So proud of you @Conor689908! You’ve had some really high highs and some really low lows this past year and you’ve managed to hold onto your sobriety. What an inspiration you are.
Congratulations on 2 years!!
Outstanding, my friend. Very proud of you! Congratulations!

I’m not big on looking to sober celebrities etc for inspiration, but there is one or two that I really find amazing.
As someone who was a preteen and teenager in the heyday of “Jackass”, I love me some Steve-O. Dude should be dead ten times over. But no. He’s sober for over a decade, is super positive, and just seems like such a great guy. He lives his life to the fullest and is still able to do all the stuff he was doing previously under the influence, now sober.
I remember when Jackass 2 or 3 came out, the cast did a “24 hr takeover” of MTV. I was in college at the time, drunk myself, and I remember Steve-O was so messed up on alcohol and god knows what else that they had to kick him out of the studio and security had to escort him away. I remember thinking, “Man that guy isn’t gonna make it”. But he DID.
So…uh, yeah. I might have bought a signed Steve-O 1995 mugshot for my office and framed it. No regrets here.
If you’ve never seen his YouTube channel or podcast, highly recommended. Funny, insightful, often gross. His turnaround has just been remarkable.
Huge congratulations, Conor!!!
I remember you’re few days ahead. Mine 2 years will be 26.8.21
I watched his documentary after I got sober and it was riveting. Truly insane stuff, and not like “whoa that’s insane dude!!” but like…legitimate insanity.
I also remember watching that MTV takeover live and watching him get hauled away. Those guys were a huge part of my life growing up, for better or worse. Can’t wait to watch the new movie and see what it’s like now that they’re older and soberer. I recently watched Novak’s documentary as well.
Just keep moving. That’s the key. When your body can’t handle running anymore, switch to cycling and swimming. My FiL is close to 80 and still lifts three times a week. Dude can bench more than I can.
I plan to keep doing martial arts forever. When I can’t do the hard contact stuff anymore, I’ll switch to tai chi.
Today I had my quarterly black belt bootcamp. It’s where they assess you and see if you are ready to test for the next belt. Black is my next belt and when we got to the sparring part, I had to fight three guys…at once. Needless to say, I got knocked around a lot, but got plenty of strikes in myself. Already feeling sore. Tomorrow will be worse, but I’ll be in the Brojo as per usual, practicing.
Two years of getting better at getting better?
Big congratulations! I know u have had some ups and downs and changes, but the constant is always staying sober. Proud of u!
