Sober Selfies #11 (shirts required, please review rules)

66 days sober! i officially beat my record which was 60 days and that was about a year and a half ago. i’m feeling so grateful to be clearing my system, my evolution has seemed to speed up during this time, alcohol abuse really had me in a holding pattern for so many years that it’s amazing to feel the leaps and bounds my spirit is taking thru this sober experience. my pregnancy gives me enormous reason every day, it makes alcohol a non-choice for me….and i still have 6 months of pregnancy to go and then boom! — motherhood!:exploding_head::partying_face: — i truly feel that my child is giving me and will continue to give me the greatest purpose and motivation for choosing sobriety and for that i am soooooo grateful. :heart::hugs::raised_hands:t3: sending love to all y’all!:v:t3::sparkles:

Your glowing Julia. Momma to be. I’m so dang happy for you. Nice to see you checking in.
God Bless.
:pray:t2::heart:

Looking very smart Joseph and was happy to read your open post and about your getting help for the old mind, that is so great. :heart: Gotta point out one thing:

This my friend, is bullshit. You’re not not self sufficient because you lack strength. It is part of the human condition that we do not thrive in isolation, we are not locigal machines that run forever fullifilling our job and purpose on our own unsupervised and unchanging. We communicate, we feel, we grow, change, age, learn, forget. Humans are not self-sufficient, a closed circuit. We need constantly to be in exchange, things coming in, things going out. That’s why we have language, symbols, signals, meaning, cultural systems like fashion poetry cuisine … Communication and therefore taking in external things into our selves is absolute base layer for us.
You are not not strong enough. That is not a fault of yours my friend. But it’ll be interesting and important for you to find out more about why and how you perceive yourself as such.
I wish you continued growth and success on your journey!

I went trail running today for the first time. I have a 5k on an easy course coming up at Halloween. For training, I used a much tougher trail, really a hiking trail up the back side of the local ski hill. I read an article that said when you switch from road to trail, forget about your times, it’s apples and oranges. I stumbled twice and fell once. Rug burn on my back, a skinned knee and a little dink on my forehead. It’s exhausting! My time for 3 one mile loops, including rolling downhill that third time round, was 42 minutes! Good grief, that’s at least 15 minutes over my road time for the same distance, now I see why that article made the recommendation.

Oh for sure! I hate trail running personally. Tried it once. I signed up for a 15!! mile trail race. No idea what I was thinking. This was 2 years ago and before I was really even into running. I was roughing out 5ks and here I go joining a 15 miles race :woman_facepalming:t2: I made it 11 miles in about 2 and half hours. Multiple trips on tree roots and my body was trash after that. I haven’t gave trial racing a thought since lol The only trail you will see me doing is plain Jane hiking trails :joy::joy:
