5 months sober! As the day comes to an end i feel very accomplished and proud ive made it this far! Its definitely not easy on this journey but has been worth every minute without alcohol! Still think about drinking everyday just because its been apart of who i was for half my life! Its just easier to say no im not going to and move on with my day happier knowing that im completely present for everything and that my tomorrow there will be no repercussions of any jackassery i may have done the night before or the hangover that was always inevitable. My life seems to have more meaning now that im not numbing myself of all emotions. Crazy how fast these 5 months have gone by i can tell a big difference in my relationship with my fiance has gotten so much better and our communication and connection with eachother has grown tighter then ever. Im definitely in this for the long haul. The old zack was good but this new zack is actually going big places. I go to what i call alcohol therapy every other week and between that and this im really learning alot about myself and why i drank so much. Interesting how the mind works and why we choose what we do to escape reality instead of taking life head on! Im truly glad how my last night of drinking happened to make me realize it was time to stop and get my life in oreder. Thanks everyone for telling your stories and struggles it truly helps to stay on the sober path. Have a great rest of your weekend and we got this!!! Stay motivated and as always one day at a time!!!
