10/10 I’m convinced long weekends in the woods are cathartic and great for the soul, have a good time!

Just doing the stuff, keeping it on track or recenter when I need to. Kind of just enjoying each day in small ways lately and it’s a weird new normal for me, but I love it’s casualness

Please accept my best wishes to you for a full recovery from your Cancer. Unfortunately it runs in my family on both sides. But the technology and research today has provided a lot of really effective avenues for persons with Cancer. I hope you have a great month of September. God is always with us, 24/7 even when we forsake Him and He will take care of you.

That sounds great Scott. Is that wild camping or on a camping site? Either way it’s the best medicine. Enjoy.:+1:

Taken early August at the Seafair Unlimited Hydroplane Races, Stan Sayres Pits, Genesee Park, Seattle. I made friends with one of the Seafair security people working the pit area (I talk to everyone close by and I try to find something in common with the person and the conversation takes off) and he got me into the restricted pit area so I could see some of the hydros up close and get some pictures of me with the Crew Chief of the Miss Squire Shop, which is an historical restored boat run on the lake with four other restored hydroplanes from the Seattle Hydroplane Museum. Miss Notre Dame is in the background. They use the WWII Rolls Royce and Allison V12 aircraft engines, not the quiet aircraft turbines used in today’s Unlimiteds. Lots of noise, and speed, I LOVE IT! They ran their own heat on Saturday and Sunday, I was there all day both days.

The crew chief asked me “would you like to sit in the cockpit?”. That is a Bucket List Item, so of course I accepted the invitation and climbed in for a few pictures. I was so thrilled. super hot all weekend, I got to be outside all day the whole weekend, and there were tons of people. I love to talk to anyone around me, so I had a great time, made some nice friends. Been going to these races since the mid 1980s. Blue Angels, Stunt Planes, live music, vendors, food, and a big military presence in the park (recruiters with some very cool stuff on display and interactive virtual reality stuff, etc.). 28 years and four months in recovery today and life is great, it is treating me better than I deserve for sure.Life is good and I feel blessed to live here.
