Felt a cold coming on last night. Tested positive for COVID this morning. First time for me. I feel like I just my first smartphone, 3 years after everyone else got them.
Iām so behind the times. I havenāt even gotten it once!!
May you find rapid healing.
Ugh I just got COVID for the first time this last week too! Something I could have done withoutā¦ hope you feel better soon!
Hope you feel better as well
I got an endoscopy today with a scope ultrasound of my pancreas and liver-I had asked my new doc if he could tell me my chances of needing a new liver so we did a procedure to find out how healthy of a condition Iām in. All my varices are gone and he told me when I woke that in the four years Iāve been sober Iāve pretty much reversed my liver cirrhosis. If I abstain from alcohol and continue to live the healthy lifestyle Iāve been living, I wonāt need a liver transplant in this lifetime. Until this point I didnāt realize how subconsciously over the past four years Iāve been living in the now. Putting 1% in my 401k and not really saving any money as I honestly didnāt think Iād see past the age of 50. Living in the moment and just enjoying myself-truly. I never let myself fully digest the idea of living with a cirrhotic liver because it was too scary-too overwhelming. Well, the sigh of relief I took this morning was huge. Sober life is the best life and take it from me, it will reward you in ways you never thought were possible.
My 1198th day sober was pretty rad! Its also a little over 6 months since my final cigarette
Three weeks into my fourth sober season!
Thats awesome! We can and do recover!
Now this is a terrific hopeful share Emilie. That is such wonderful news. And such a relief. I keep hearing or understanding the body is an amazing machine. So happy for you.
Congratulations to you! Glad you will be able to go to sleep at night w the assurance you are not and should not be a transplant candidate. Bodies heal and livers in many cases especially can. Congratulations to you for getting that freedom back in your life, to not have that burden and fear attached. Welcome to your new world ! Big hugs. One upon a time in my twenties my liver was enlarged and cirrhotic, to the point that the tissue sample āfell apartā on biopsy. I had already not been drinking for three and a half years. It was not alcohol or a drug that did it, but once the condition was treated, it went back to normalā¦
This makes me so happy

Great news, " the human body is regenerative, not degenerative". Guess thatās why they call it getting clean.
