Tell me about it!!!
I know where you’re at. You’re in a great place and you’ll be so dang proud of yourself without that celebratory glass of wine.
I was 19 days sober before my big SIX O birthday this year in January. Freaking sixtieth birthday!! I picked the restaurant in Beverly Hills. I check out the really nice Cabernets on their wine list. Oh it was going to be sooo good. I came on here and started writing about it. And I’m still so freaking proud of the decision I made to not drink. Best birthday gift EVA!! Everyone here was right!! I was strutting my stuff with pride the day after, hell weeks after, :smiley: and only I knew why.

Was it you that said “ Romanticizing?” Cuz that has stuck we me. I still romanticize about having a glass. I wish someone could fix that. But I don’t want a glass of wine now. And probably not tomorrow either. And that’s been working for me.

That’s what I’m trying to focus on, the fresh feeling the next morning, being able to come on here and let you guys know I did it, that sense of achievement. I don’t need it. I do want it. But I want the victory of not having it more :slight_smile: good on you for passing on your 60th that’s a huge challenge! Little stories like that make me feel like I can stick to this :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I was around for 78. School closed for 3 weeks. Driving ban. We ran out of heating oil and went without for two days until a truck could get to us. Had to pull a toboggan to the Star Market for groceries. Still had snow banks melting in June.
