Sober Selfies #9 (shirts required please)

8 months today and not one drop of alcohol has passed my lips. And two and a half stone lighter, but best of all feeling so good. I’m 51 so no spring chicken but I’ve always felt young at heart but let my life slip away. But now I’m in control and I’m deciding what I’m doing not that evil (VILE) and I hate that word but it is VILE voice in my head. Good luck to everyone just starting there journey and the more you can keep going the better you’ll feel. It’s not easy but worth every struggle you encounter and beat.
Keep up the good work everyone and listen to the people who are on here, they talk a lot of sence and are wonderful people. You all know who you are you are a credit to yourselves xxxx

This was from 9 month’s ago, I’ve posted it before. The other one was in benidorm December 2019 I was drinking from the minute I woke up to when I went to bed every day. But I was ok (yer) of course I was not.
Do it for whatever reason you want to but do it for you please xxxx

That’s awful. We have black out shades in our bedroom.
End of sentence :joy::joy::joy:
Wifey wants to know if it’s ever normal? Like the fall or the spring?
And we are both grateful that we live where we can take daylight and darkness for granted.
I mean, I knew this shit, but never knew anyone who lived so far north. Makes it seem more real. God Bless.
I’ll still take those thunderstorms though. Send them down to the southwest USA. We need it bad. It’s fire season and things are burning up here. I don’t think we are going home Saturday. Where we live is suppose to be preparing for evacuation from the Rafael Fire. We really don’t want to drive 8/9 hours to be told we have to evacuate :scream:
So we really don’t know what we’re doing the next few days.
Better stick a selfie on here to stay on topic. :joy::joy:

Big brown puppy dog eyes. You have gorgeous eyes I guess you hear that from everybody though. Hard to see though in the first picture when you were facedown. Oh I remember those days Don’t want to go back there I guess you don’t either. Great picture
1 handsome man!

It’s “normal” in autumn and springtime. Midsummer and Christmas times are extremes light-wise.

Summer nights are SOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! The light is not super bright but lovely mellow. It’s really inviting, just to sit in a park or by a body of water just taking in the beauty of nature. Even dipping in a lake for a late swim. It’s definitely easier to stay up later than in winter time.

Anyways, you get used to it. You learn to deal with the extremes. Like getting many curtains so it’s not a biggie when you have it in place.

I hope the fires die down and you get to keep your home and go back there :pray:t2:

Took this after my cardio workout today! Feeling great to be at 46 days and the weight keeps sliding off. Coming here, going to AA, being with friends I’ve made in AA, and just admitting I had no control over my alcoholism has done wonders. I haven’t been this thin/in shape since well before 2015.

Thanks your making me blush lol. Dont build my ego up to much tho! I seen the before and after pic of you and like couple hours later my buddy who just got in recovery sent me that old pic of me. Lol

Don’t know about that good looking but thanks! Appreciate the ego boost for real but trying to not let it get too big! Discussing the terms of a divorce soon so it helps haha
