i got diagnosed after i got sober its hard and the meds suck im up and down a lot i must say not having the liquor has made switching moods a breeze awesome though to have a fellow bipolar im here if u need an ear well…eyes

I got treated for bi-,polar in rehab. For a proper diagnosis you need about a year sober. I still get minor episodes (depressive for the last month) but nothing like I used to have when I was still using. After 7-8 months sober I slowly tapered off of my meds under supervision of my psych doctor. The longer I stay sober the easier it gets to manage my symptoms.

really rehab gives mental health help as well? i had no idea i was court mandated to get sober i had to take these drug and alcohol classes and started digging deep to find the root of my drinking found out it was my mental health went to a shrink against my families advice i have borderline personality disorder but my wonderful jobs therapist thinks im more bipolar than bpd
