Sober selfies

Thank you!

One of the best feelings ever is knowing I don’t have to worry about my husband finding my mistakes in the trash the next morning. Or trying to put the empty bottles out in the garage so he doesn’t see. Great job!

Thank you. Yes,waking up n hiding my bottles, so neighbors won’t see. Painfully hiding my truth. No longer needing to pretend. More proud each day of who I am .

Can I ask how you dropped 25lbs in 30 days? That’s what I need to release to be healthy again. I keep craving the sugar after giving up alcohol.

Sure! So I craved sugar like a damn mad woman after I gave up drinking, and I am NOT that much of a sweets person. But I said the hell with it, better that than drinking right? Well, one day we had a quincenera to go to and I went shopping and not even an XL fit me, I was disgusted with myself and refused to go up another size. On top of that I realized that because I was too busy eating, especially at night, and not feeling great about myself, my sex drive just went out the door. Enough was enough. I needed my drive back and I needed to feel better about myself so I eliminated all sugars, pastas, and breads. I wanted it THAT BAD. And the pounds FLEW OFF. I was suprised at how quickly it happened myself. My boyfriend is also on this sober journey with me, he is actually at 70 days, and is supportive in my change in eating so that helps tremendously. And after a few weeks, the cravings go away. Just like the will power of sobeiety, so is this, but you have to want it. Focus on what is important first. The rest will follow. Bit nobody ever says it will be easy! Feel free to ask any questions if need be and good luck and congrats!

I’ve been treating it like my sobriety this week. Just deciding that I will not eat sugar /bad carbs today. Take it one day at a time. I’m afraid at 47yo it may take a little longer for the weight to come off. But your story gives me hope! Thanks for sharing.

Well im 35 so its not as fast for me now either! And my body HURTS from doing hair for the last 18 years, so Im not running to the gym. Its all pure will power, strength, discipline, and drive. If I do crave sweets, I go for Lillys Dark Chocolate. One bar is 2 servings and it usually takes me several days to eat the whole bar. My go to is the salted caramel.

Also, remember, 2 pounds a week is a healthy weight loss. Not almost a pound a day like mine was. Even I thought that was way too fast!
