Today I have 34 days clean from opioids I went cold turkey also with the help of suboxones without a physician help do anyone have any tips on how I can not rely on those because I don’t want them to become another addiction as well
Great work on the 34 days.
I think it would be best to talk to a physician .
Congrats on 34 days, that’s amazing!
I would only trust a medical doctor visit about whatever prescribed or non-prescribed questions you might have, that sounds appropriate. May I make another suggestion? Be as honest as you can. Let them know what you’re trying to do, important parts about recovery history in your past, and ask for guidance under their care.
What I have experienced? Some doctors have memory like me, really good, just really short. I am constantly reminding physicians about substance use, where I am trying to work my program. Like, “I don’t want prescribed addictive substances”.. sometimes? I have to repeat it several times in the same visit. but hey, they’re just as human as I am, a freidnly reminder can’t hurt, and reinforces my sobriety.
some drugs require medical facilities to get off of them, don’t be shy on this matter. I had a friend 6 months ago, put down the bottle but pick up another drug, then? tried to ween off on their own, let’s just say, it didn’t end well for them. please seek professional help when trying to get off addictive substances, they might be dangerous to cold turkey, and cold turkey alone!
so, if, and that’s a big if, if you want to stop? then seek pro-help level stuff. you got this.
