Thanks for your input
Yes, I’m just catching up on it all now. It’s been a hectic few days!
I mean, my biggest concern about the forum at the moment is the fact that I have no access to emojis anymore. What gives!?
maybe its just you? I still have em …unless you’re on a computer than I have no idea how people emoji haha.
- You can’t please everybody. Don’t try.
- Adding an additional layer of complexity to an already complex problem is never a solution. As Albert Einstein stated “Everything should be made as simple as possible , but no simpler”
- We don’t need to manufacture a problem to justify feelings.
- I do not believe there is a problem great enough to warrant change at this point.

Haven’t heard any issues with emojis. If your on the app, try uninstalling it. Maybe yours needs a reboot/update and they’ll come back after you install again.
Hahaha yessss you lost me at point 3
Maybe I’ll try reinstalling. Hopefully I remember my password
I just re downloaded the app and still no emojis. And no computer, just my phone!
Do you mean the limited set of emoji you could select directly underneath a post?
If so, these were removed a while ago now to improve site stability when it was having some issues
Yup! Thanks for clarifying. I thought maybe it was just me
I was thinking about this earlier, it’s a good idea. But I think it should be called “Seeking Attention” just to keep things consistent.
And we should definitely have an agreed upon sarcasm font
my submission for sarcasm font
Seems too passive aggressive, don’t you think?
This article that I apparently need to register to read, came up when I searched “sarcasm font”. Apparently I’m not the only one that’s deadpan tonight
no. I think it’s totally fine
See?.. It works!
After reading the whole thread I would like to add the following after being here for almost 3 years.

As a whole we have always been limited to 3 mods and at most only 1 was doing the job most of the time.
It’s honestly not the fault of anyone. We have all taken things on and then realized it was to much to take on with everyday life when you aren’t getting paid.
Hell I stepped down from my non profit organization because once I started getting sober it to was to much. -
Robin isn’t around enough for our concerns to be taken care of. We’ve expressed concern for this multiple times yet nothing. Look how long it took to get a female mod. Almost 2 whole years of people asking. With that comes him only coming around to punish someone. Anyone who has been flagged or on his bad side knows what I am talking about.
I have seen multiple of our mods over my 3 years on Talking Sober say they are winging it when it comes to what to do because they were never taught how to be a mod for TS. They were just voted and shown how to use the app from the mod side. -
Sadly it’s that time of year again when we will get WAY to many people come on who want to try and get sober but don’t want to do the work or those who are kindly forced into sobriety so they are miserable about it. We all know the type because at one point we were one or both of them but maybe we didn’t have TS. Please remember these people will mostly weed themselves out eventually and only the ones who are serious about sobriety will stick it out. We will also see a number of trolls coming on who are just here to trash talk. That’s just the way the new year goes for the site.

The flagging is getting out of hand sadly. It’s honestly not ok just to flag something that you didn’t like just because it was posted by someone you don’t like. There are quite a few people on here that I have argued with before returning back but that doesn’t mean I’m going to start flagging their stuff just because I don’t care for them as people. I still respect them as a sober adult. Some of the things they say I may roll my eyes at but still no flag. There are things that I find offensive because of my own thoughts but that’s on me. If it’s not being rude to someone else, telling someone it’s ok to keep using drugs, or do something that could harm them in sobriety I don’t feel the need to flag it at all.
Most of us are adults. We have had a few in their teens and that’s great because they are trying to get help. This isn’t high School you can’t flag just because you don’t like someone. Every one they get will get them closer to being banned. -
We all know Derek is one of us who is one of the most honest and opinionated people here and he will tell you exactly what needs to be said. Like me he doesn’t feel the need to sugar coat things. Sometimes he likes to prove points by being himself and stirring pots. That’s just him. We all also know that he is one of the strongest ones here which is why everyone jokes about how if he was to win the lottery he would by hookers and coke even though we all know that’s not true but we know we can joke around with him like that. I know Derek well enough to know that he would be one of the first ones to offer help to anyone who honestly needed it and was honestly trying to get it. So remember that when you are flagging his posts just because you don’t like him or something he has said.

As far as mods go @SassyRocks is the only one I know of that we even have because she is seriously the only one I ever see. That’s extremely sad to me since they were just voted on. But for the life of me I can’t remember who else was voted for because I don’t see much activity from them.
Anyway that’s just my 2 cents take it or leave it. Either way I will still be sober tomorrow and loving my life knowing that I’m not getting twisted up in the drama of TS anymore
Very well said and thought out. Are you sure it’s ok to post such a rational response in January??
It could be that whole new year new me thing going through my mind still so I’m really trying to stay positive. Haha
Or it could be that it’s 3 am and I’m wide awake and for once I am so happy with life that I can be positive about things
It’s kind of worrisome because it’s not the Jessi people are used to. Haha
Csun was also made a mod, but she’s doing life with a toddler, and a teenager and stuff so she’s not nearly as present as Sassy is
