Sugar boycott

Last week I bought blueberries actually and mixed nuts but they were salted so I ate them sparingly, small bag lasted all week so that was good! I forget about frozen bananas because I don’t like them but frozen is actually way better. Thanks for the reminder!

A healthy congrats on the weight loss :slightly_smiling_face: I do low carb, but have my days where I cheat a little or a lot. Off topic, but in regards to Keto… does it give fowl breath? And not the fruity kind of breath… that I don’t consider ‘fowl’, but when asking Uncle Google some do  Only asking, bc I have a friend I’m around a lot who is doing Keto… and the breath… wow lol :grimacing: Is it a dental hygiene issue or not?

My bff smelled legit like ammonia when she was in ketosis. That def kept me off the keto train, I like the more gradual way-more likely I’ll keep it off

This isn’t an ammonia smell

Thanks😀 I have read that but it wasnt a problem for me. I don’t think? No one said anything. Now Im concerned🤔

Don’t be concerned! So when I first cut carbs out of my diet last year I remember feeling like my breath was acidic or on fire… but naturally keep my distance around people anyway and/or chew gum, so how would anyone know?

Her breath was ok so there may be more to that but her skin-her arms, legs, body, all of it smelled like ammonia BAD. She looked great and felt healthy though, once she stopped however she got bigger than she ever was. It works wonders for weight but there seems to be big extremes when on and off it.

Yea, I’m thinking so too.

Man that stinks. Anytime I did a diet without exercise and went back to my old ways I always gained more than I weighed previously. But that’s just me.

Hey y’all, I had a revelation today!

If I don’t buy candy, then I don’t have any at home to graze on. :exploding_head:

I kid, but it did strike me it’s much easier to avoid temptation at the store than once it’s sitting in an open bowl on my table, staring at me with its chocolate brown, puppy dog eyes.

Now if only I could resist ice cream…

Oh for sure. I keep NO sweets in my house. It helps! I treated it just like alcohol when I was ready to kick it.

Lol! This is why I’m laughing. Thinking, I’m an alcoholic and I’m just figuring this out? :joy:

I live and die by these things to help curb my sweet cravings( there’s like 12 other flavors too). The only sugar i get is from that 1g or from natural in fruits and veggies. I lost 125 lbs last year when i quit drinking the first time(currently on my second time). Eating clean in general my body feels amazing, but little to no added sugar my body feels amazing. It’s hard to go without but once you do man your body thanks you!

I ditched added sugar before I even went to rehab. Very early in recovery I ate a fair bit of fresh fruit, my rehab was in Thailand so the fruit was AMAZING!
Now I eat a banana or two daily, sometimes one other piece of fruit. Other than that, and some veggies, there’s very little sugar in my diet. Definitely no added sugar.
Before that I was eating things like doughnuts, muesli bars, soft drinks (soda?), fruit juice.
The difference is astounding. I’m not surprised obesity is an epidemic, sugar is addictive with its highs and lows and it’s basically refined energy.
Part of me wants to kick caffeine too, it’s the last specific thing I put into my body that I’m really dependant on. I just love coffee though!

Smells like this persons throat is rotting :grimacing: Not the mothball smell
You’re referring to  But I love ‘em, so I don’t want to say something just yet.

Hell yea. Indulge these first couple of months!! Your body probably needs it.

Hey just an idea, if you’re close enough with your friend could you raise it gently? Like, ‘hey, I don’t know why but since you’ve been on this diet I’ve noticed a smell in your breath, are your aware of it?’
Something along those lines. As I was reading what you described I was just thinking that I really hope someone would tell me if they thought my breath stank. A once off, ignore it for sure, but all the time I’d want to be told.
That doesn’t mean your friend thinks like I do though lol
