Someone offered an instapot. My wife thought about it cuz she uses ours all the time. But that one is in storage.
And the stovetop does work. So we have that going for us

Yeah not the same, i usually fly home to see family, but I’m not this year Benard i don’t want to accidentally expose them. And work has travel restrictions on us. All good though. Still a good holiday - no present drama!

Happy Thanksgiving. Today is rough going through one of the hardest break ups ive had to endure. Not being part of my ex’s celebration hurts but I spent some time today taking a moment to be grateful for the good times shared and teachable moments

I always bake pumpkins down and make my own pies and whatnot. Theres always leftover pumpkin mash for at least Thanksgiving, usually Christmas also. I didn’t make as much pumpkin stuff this year because I was busy processing 25lbs of apples. So this was the last container.

So thanksgiving is postponed until Saturday this year. Kyle is hiking with his dad, my sister and her husband are quarantining because they came in contact with someone who had Covid. So…seasons 52 takeout it is tonight for me, mom & dad. It’s my favorite holiday but I want everyone to be safe so I don’t mind the precautions. I got this boy and that’s all that matters. Post pics of your turkeys so I can be jealous!

Well…my initial plan was to cook dinner for me, my dad (who lives on his own after my mom passed) and my new husband. On Tuesday my husband tested positive for Covid. So now I’m in quarantine in an air bnb (luckily having tested negative yesterday). It’s a rough thanksgiving to be alone. BUT… I’m grateful
- That I’m dealing with it sober
- That in sobriety I am responsible enough with my income that being able to get a spur of the moment air bnb was a non issue.
- That I have tested negative so far and as long as I remain without symptoms for the next day I will have passed the contagious window (should I come down with it) so that the school I own doesn’t have to shut down.
- That my business partner and her husband drove me and my husband dinner plates.
- That FaceTime exists.
- That I have time to do grad school work now.
- That so far my husband is managing the virus well.
- That this community exists to help us stay connected during the holidays.

10 days is definitely something to be thankful for. I am sorry about your breakup.
I hope you can put all of your energy into learning to love yourself, and getting to know yourself sober.

2020 has been a strange year! But its been a good year because of recovery.
Its nice to feel gratitude. I didn’t feel that as a drunk. I like it! I’m thankful!

It’s not a traditional Thanksgiving for me but then again this entire year hasn’t been normal. Since I’m in isolation for possible covid exposure, we can’t have any family over. Its just the 3 of us (hubby, daughter and me). We decided to have prime rib and filet mignon instead of turkey.
