That settles it, in having a trip to the States, if they let me in that is.
Regarding Indian accents, I struggle to understand them whatever language they are talking in.
I’ve lost my NY accent over the years. I grew up pretty close to NYC. When I met my hubby, he always made fun of me. We moved in together and I changed the address on my drivers license over the phone and when it came in the mail, it said “Da Village” instead of “The Village”. He wouldn’t let me live it down for years. Now days I speak “normal”.
I’m dying That’s hysterical “Da Village” I love NY. I tried to listen to a recovery podcast someone had linked on here once that was based in NY. I made it about 20 minutes and had to turn it off. I just couldn’t handle the accents. I have no idea why. They just got on my nerves! So weird.
Come on over! It would be a riot to have you!
The Indian accent is the worst! I can’t understand them at all which is bad since my primary dr is Indian. I always have to ask the nurse to repeat for me.
I don’t get the people that have lived here for over 20+ years and still struggle with the language. If I moved to India or somewhere I needed to learn a new language I’d try my very hardest to speak it and speak it well! It comes across as arrogant to me. Like they can’t be bothered to learn?? I don’t know. We have a lot of Hispanic people here in Texas that are the same way. They’ve lived here forever but they still struggle with the English or just don’t bother to speak it because they know enough to get by and there are a lot of Spanish speakers around here. Anyway… French accents are awesome too. It’s all just a little silly though. Isn’t it?
None of us can understand the Indian accent which I think it’s why they use them for the call centres as they know that we will just get frustrated, put the phone down and not lodge the complaint we were set on lodging when we initially called them in anger!
At this point in your recovery I think it’s time you left that old baggage behind anyway.
Exactly! I get them all the time and end up more frustrated by the end of the call. I try asking to speak with someone in the US but rarely successful. I guess it’s just cheaper for companies to outsource.
I quite like the Boston accent, not necessarily in a women but just in general I think that it sounds good.
Oh they are tough those Texans mate.
What do you watch them on m8?
Oh there’s an app that I have on my android box called modbro. With it you get all of the bt sports and sky sports channels for free… Do you have anyway of watching such things on your actual TV and not your phone? I’ve got a spare Android box loaded up with such apps, you can have it is you want it. I offered it to Geoff a while back but he had no use for it.
What I need to know right now is… Is it too early to go to bed? It’s 4:02pm. I’m going to try to hang on until it’s dinner time. But I’ll be making an early dinner
I don’t typically nap well this late in the day. But maybe I’ll try one. That means I’d have to put my phone down though.
Mate if you can get me a ticket then I’ll be right there in the stands with you, I’ve worked hard enough and only has Christmas Day and new year’s eve off so I’ve earned a night off here and there.
No I’m not getting rid of everything, this is my spare Android box and I’m sending you the phone as you were talking about getting one and I’d rather mine go to a good home and I know that you would use it. It’s a pretty damn good phone actually. I’m quite proud of this phone as it’s the first smartphone I’ve ever managed to hold on to and not sell to buy drugs.
If you can get another ticket for me then just let me know and I’ll pay the money in to your account, it would be great to meet at a “soccer” game.
@crystalclear I would def go for a nap. It is so great and refreshing. But yes that means you will have to put down the phone
Yeah man definitely let me know, especially if your need me to send you the dough upfront so that your can buy them. When’s the game that your trying for?
Hey!
I still have some even though I’ve been in FL for 16 years…
