I live alone and spend just a bit over USD $25/week on average.

I’d say about $150-200 every 10 days. If we eat out for one meal, not at a sit down restaurant, it’s about $30-$40. Buying groceries is the biggest way for me to save money. Even “almost prepared” meals, like the kind you get at Trader Joe’s are more cost effective than going to a restaurant.

I wish we had a Trader Joe’s near me. I heard they have really unique food items that the regular grocery store does not carry.

Wow my kids eat that alone in snacks for school.

Brock the Brach’ got a good scare and some bad scrapes, but absolutely whalloped T-Rex Tim over the head and sent him reeling! He managed to put some distance behind him and get to someplace safe.

But now he’s been separated from the herd. Alone, he is even more vulnerable than before. There is still light left in the day to get back to them, but not much, and it’s uncertain how far away his herd is.

What should he do?

  • Try to find the herd before night falls
  • Stay put where he’s safe for now, but risk being left behind

I’ll admit I feel under pressure with the budget, but I have to make it work, and I do. I’m still not great at learning to practice gratitude instead of complaining and resenting the cost of everything. But I’m a work in progress, and I can still work on my attitude. :man_shrugging:

We don’t have Trader Joes so I’m curious, are they cooked frozen meals, fresh cooked or raw?

Umm, they have both I guess. I think the orange chicken is raw, breaded chicken. And frozen of course.

Gabe, we have the exact same meal!

We dont have Trader Joe’s where we live either. This weekend were visiting our friends in Tacoma though. Which means, a stock up trip to TJ’s.

I’m super lucky. We live literally 3 blocks from a trader Joe’s.

I think I’ve only been in a Trader Joe’s once. That was to get pizza dough.

I seriously do like 90% of our grocery shopping there.

I used to be a half mile from one before we moved to central Washington. It was nice.

Brock :sauropod: left his shelter and set out, back to where he last saw his herd. Though he made good time and there were plenty of fresh tracks to follow, he wasn’t able to catch up with them before it became too dark to continue on. He did his best to find a quiet, out-of-the-way place to rest. Thankfully, no predators threatened him during the night.

He got up at first light, and after half an hour of searching, found tracks belonging to his herd that he could still follow. While doing so, however, he heard a noise coming from a nearby hollowed-out log. Investigation revealed a baby lizard making the tiniest poor little calls for a mother that was nowhere to be found.

Should Brock take the little :lizard: with him?

  • Of course, he’ll die on his own.
  • No, what if the mother’s still alive and comes back?
