I’m cleaning myself of pornography, and today is the third day. I’m so electric and thirsty I couldn’t sleep, I won’t be able to go to the gym tomorrow. Withdrawal is getting the better of me but I hold on tight, I don’t want to throw those 72 hours away on empty minutes. Not this time, not anymore.
Good for you Sam! Can you push yourself to get to the gym even though you’re tired? Not a heavy day, just do some light cardio, maybe rowing etc, a few weights if you want (don’t push it today, just something to wake the muscles up). Pushing through in that way is one way of asserting healthy limits on the body: if you have a regular wake up time and a regular morning routine, your body gets conditioned and it starts to fall asleep at a reasonable time.
Porn is garbage and you’re doing good getting that out of your life. There’s a lot of threads about it (search terms like “porn” “masturbation” “PMO” etc here and you’ll find a bunch of threads). This thread has been pretty active this year:
