Three things I've done today which I wouldn't have done if hungover

I wanted to remind myself about the small things I can achieve each day without hangovers and drinking and would love to hear yours!

Mine today…

  • I made a healthy breakfast
  • I went for a walk on my lunch break and enjoyed the autumn leaves
  • I tried my best at work

What are yours?

  2. Really appreciate the love of my 4 cats and 2 dogs waiting for breakfast in the morning instead of just flinging them their breakfast.

  3. Making time for my gratitude list every single morning I been sober because there is way too much to be grateful for being sober.

I woke up to drama from alcoholism. Not mine which is nice.

Im staying with friends. Their daughter has an alcoholic boyfriend. They live downstairs. The daughter is probably one too. They fight all night and her young daughter gets scared and comes and sleeps with grandma.

It makes her late for work, and makes her hubby, my bother from another mother angry.

Basically ruined everyones morning. Except mine. Made me greatful I dont live like that anymore.

I was able to restart my day.

Meditate and come to a positive realistic goals for my own issues. I feel inner peace today! I like that!

Come here and get grounded in recovery.

Found some dank memes!

Its going to be a great day!

I love reading your responses and seeing how much we all achieve that make us feel better without drinking.

The three things I want to achieve today which I wouldn’t even have attempted with a hangover…

  • Clean the house
  • Do a workout on my lunch break
  • Start my new book by one of my favourite authors, Ken Follet

Today my three things are…

  • Listen to self improvement podcasts on a long car journey I’m going on - If I was hungover I’d be sleeping or trying not to be sick
  • Do 10,000 steps. I’ve done half so far and it improved my stress massively just being outside
  • Make homemade pesto for lunch (I made a new blend using up stuff in the kitchen - almonds, lime juice, rocket and garlic with olive oil in the blender, I’d definitely recommend!)

Hope you’re all having a good day.

  1. Worked out.

  2. Talked to both of my parents on the phone and caught up with them.

When I was drinking I was horrible at keeping in touch with friends and family, so I’m proud of this one :point_up_2:

  1. Did some gardening & folded laundry

Sorry I kinda snuck a 4th one in there…I love this thread!

Was a good day full of work:

  • Wrote two position papers,

  • Answered matter-of-factly to complete nonsense from a dumbass nerve-racking colleague,

  • Had a long call from another colleague who vented about the dumbass and I was able to soothe them and felt ok, not overstrained.

I’m very happy about that all. None of it had happened if I was hungover. Grateful for beeing sober :gift_heart:

Same! When I’d go quiet for a few days, everyone knew exactly what was up.
