Thriftshop treasures from all over the world 🌍

This “shrinkflation” thing is getting out of control. Even the Oscars are now being affected by it.

It’s a 1920s art deco cat tin from the Dutch candy store chain C.Jamin. Apparently they are still in business today. Not sure what their candy is like though.

You found it! Thank you! Jamin is an old candy store in the Netherlands and it still exists. They sell all kind of different candy. You name it and they probably will have it.

And 1920 that’s older then I thought the can would be.

Today’s thrift shop bargain is a Joey D man bag for £7. Joey D is an Edinburgh tailor who makes accessories and club wear from recycled Harris tweed and leather. I’m a big fan of his work.

Not familiar with Joey D but this is a lovely find

This Nine West bag I got for $5 that still had it’s original ($99.99) tag inside!

The real treasure, however, was the $50 I found inside one of the pockets! So technically it cost -$45…cha-ching! :money_mouth_face:

Wow! Lucky you!! :four_leaf_clover: And lovely bag! I would have bought it too!
My best buy ever was a brown leather jacket for €7,50, still in sale for €199,-.
I sold it for €50,-
But your catch is the winner!! :star_struck:

These are the identical Sorel boots I mentioned long ago. I’ve since acquired identical Merrill running shoes! :joy:

Left boots-$199…Right boots-$10
Left shoes-$140…Right shoes-$10

Next time I want expensive, high quality shoes, I think I’ll just wait a little while :joy:

Nice catches! :star_struck: :star_struck:
But just wondering…why do you wanna have 2 pair of the same shoes? A spare pair?

I just found this thread! Love some Thriftshop treasure hunting!!! Here a few of my favorite treasures over the past:

10 cents got 2!

Lladro look alike but fell in love with it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This is my all time ultimate fav!! My father was born and raised in Louisville KY, specifically lived across the street from Churchill Downs. Horse racing is a part of my childhood memories. So when I was flipping through boxes and boxes of large pictures and paintings, I came across this gem. I bought it for $5 and when I asked the clerk if the horse was Sea Biscuit or Secretariat, he gave me a funny look picked up the painting and said Oh Man, I underpriced this one! Lol Too late
If you notice, the painter put an explanation of why he painted this horse. This definitely my best find!

There’s been multiple times I’ve found a shoe I love so much, I regret never buying another pair(I kinda have a thing for shoes ) As @Lisa07 mentioned, those boots are phenomenal! Your feet will literally be sweating when it’s 10°F(-12°C)! We see some of the worst winters in the entire country. Quality boots are a must. It took forever to get them bc that style was always sold out. How could someone just donate them?! :astonished: :joy: Same with the running shoes. Best ones I’ve ever used(and in my favorite color :green_heart:). Mine are pretty worn, but the others only lightly used.

I’ve bought a pair of goodlooking warm leather snowboots 10 years ago, also secondhand ones.
But since the weather is warming up I have used them I think 2 winters at the most :face_with_peeking_eye:
