I get the weird brain zaps where it feels like an electrical current in my brain/like my brain hit it’s funny bone. Did you experience these and how long did they last? This is by far the worst symptom. It’s like vertigo and it’s confining me to a lot of rest.
Take GABA, magnesium and omega 3-s
I had brain zaps when i quit taking anti deppresants its a very weird feeling
Thank you! I’m already taking b12 and omega 3s so as soon as GNC opens up I’m getting the other two.
I hate that they put me on TRAMADOL for pain when I asked for no narcotics. The negligence is crazy.
You can’t put your full trust in doctors. You have to question what they are prescribing you.
Hope you feel better.
I’m at day 7 and I feel 100% better. Wow, this forum has been a godsend. I have a full regimen of vitamins that has cut my brain zaps short.
And you’re right. I was part of the movement around 2010 to move to tramadol. I was happy because my family has a past of addiction and i didn’t want to get hooked on anything. Smh. Doctors are trying their best, but these medications are also being released without long enough studies.
I believe tramadol has ssri properties in them, that’s probably why the brain zaps. Glad you’re feeling better, how long were you on them for?
I was on tramadol for 2-3 years. Prior to that, I was on oxy for 10 years for fibromyalgia, RA & endometriosis. Today feels amazing honestly. One full week in a few hours and I feel clean and whole again. Our body is amazing. It only takes a few days to undo a few years of damage.
That’s great that you feel so good. You’re definitely through the worst part of acute withdrawal I believe the peak for opiates is 48-96 hours. Get some good brain repair supplements. Some good Omega 3, magnesium, ect. Keep up the good work!
Congrats on your first week! I have fibro too, how are you managing your symptoms now?
Hey! My doctor prescribed me Meloxicam for initial pain, I take gabapentin for the management of my pain as I pretty much am hooked to a tens unit the entire day but it’s worth it.
I also do realize my pain was being magnified by the opiates. Once you’re off your body will handle pain a lot better, honestly.
I totally agree, I actually refused all medication when I got diagnosed-they looked at me like I had 10 heads lol. It’s tough to do at times but I have found a lot of ways to manage it fairly decently-changing my diet, stretching every night, supplements/vitamins, sleeping enough, low key physical activity and SLOW starts-especially when feeling good so I don’t spend days in bed after overdoing it anymore. I also have worked on energetic healing, reiki was the best thing I’ve found to help too! Glad you’re here. How are you feeling now?
