Amazing !! Once we get comfortable enough in our sobriety, we can go anywhere in the world we desire - and that includes vacations that normally incorporate drinking into their activities (like a cruise).

My purpose is to experience new venues and places, not find another barroom. In addition, the money not spent on daily drinking can easily pay for a 2 week vacay in Tahiti and Bora Bora.

So it becomes about a positive gain from sobriety, what I am getting, rather than a negative, what I am giving up.

All checked in and supermarket run done for huge prawns, scallops and small prawns for tapas tomorrow night. I’ll be spending a lot of time on that balcony overlooking the Turner Contemporary and English channel.

Walked to Birchington on sea today. Could go no further towards Reculver as the channel was very feisty.

France has so many beautiful castles! Visited a few during my holiday and if I had the chance it would have been more

Another sober holiday in the books :sunglasses::facepunch:

A sober trip to the Florida everglades. Went on a tram tour and got an education I didn’t think I needed.

These are baby alligators. They blend in.

After that tour we stopped at a park still in the everglades and came across this guy.

Saw the smallest US post office in the everglades. It wasn’t open when we stopped but it still operates 6 days a week. Little bigger than an outhouse.

I’ll stick my my dolphins and sea lions. Alligators scare me :scream:
