TV Series' - What Are We All Watching?

Loved the movie. Loved the series. Of course McGyver could move on with success.

Starting season six of Sopranos. I bought the complete series on DVD like three or four months ago and little by little I’ve been getting through the series. It’s definitely a really awesome show and deals with a lot of topics related to mental health, addiction, greed, family dynamics, and lots of interesting topics. I’m probably going to try to order Peaky Blinders next. I would like to get a few shows complete series on DVD for my collection. If anybody has any good show suggestions please let me know?. I also have some streaming services but lately I’ve been watching DVDs

We’re watching Stranger Things (just finished season 3 - I’m excited for Eddie to make an appearance)

We just finished the One Piece live action (I love pirates! And Luffy is so positive and supportive! Makes me happy!) :pirate_flag::grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Also started a rewatch of Man on the Inside because we just finished a rewatch of The Good Place and I needed more Ted Danson!

You’ve got until November to watch season 4 of Stranger Things until the final season. I don’t normally get hyped over a TV show but Stranger Things :heart_eyes:

Finished the sopranos . Bought the complete series on DVD maybe three or four months ago and watched the final episode yesterday. Now I’m starting Boardwalk Empire. I also would like to order Peaky Blinders. I’m trying to get a good collection of complete series on DVD. Boardwalk empire I just have season one that I found in a box at my parents. I’ll probably see about ordering the complete series.
I try to only watch one episode a day at most. Sometimes 2 episodes if obligations are done and I got plenty of exercise

Ps: I also like a show called Rescue me.. about firefighters after 911 dealing with addiction and life problems and all kinds of things. But I’ve seen that show three or four times but I still will probably order the show on DVD just to have. It’s very funny but it’s also considered a drama series

Best show ever is the Americans

Found the first two seasons in a box set DVD at a thrift store and it was brand new for five dollar’s. The show has definitely grown on me. I still don’t fully understand really what it’s about if that makes sense or if this is based off of a real family? I also don’t know anything about the history of England. Heck I don’t even know about my own country or history of that… I will say a lot of the characters in the show Have a warmth and Very authentic and real way about them. I am six episodes in and I’ve been averaging about 1 to 2 episodes a day. I’m not sure if I’m going to try to get the other seasons digitally online or order off of Amazon to complete the DVD set at my apartment. I’m definitely starting to get a pretty cool DVD collection and that’s one of my favorite things about thrift stores is looking for movies. I don’t know if thrift stores are like this in other states or what they’re called or like in other countries but I definitely like thrift stores or places that have just a bunch of random used things. The last show I watched on my TV was Sopranos so this is nothing like that .. Almost polar opposite.

Ps: I have to use subtitles

I need to start this show and finish it this time  My mom and i have tried watching twice together and we stop for whatever reason around season 2.

I too need subtitles. A really good series from what I have seen.

Watching season 4 now - hope it ends well…

Yeah I definitely feel for some of the servants but it seems like they’re treated well compared to what it could be with other families or situations like that during that time. I would definitely recommend it to anybody that’s looking for a good drama series. It actually does have really good reviews and that’s not surprising. I don’t know if you remember the show but I really like one of the guys bates. He has the limp because of a past injury from the Military and has a questionable past but nothing too crazy and it seems like his job is at risk but hopefully he doesn’t get let go. When I’m watching it I definitely forget that it’s 2025 lol. I definitely like shows that are filmed in other countries or whatever. I also want to learn a little bit more about the history behind some of the stuff that the show deals with. I can’t believe there was a time when they told you who you were supposed to marry and You had to act a certain way maybe it’s still like that in certain parts of the country I have no idea?

I also like thrift stores. You know there’s a thread here that is all about fun finds at thrift stores? Here it is - enjoy!

Thanks Matt. I knew about that thread but I usually don’t post on there because most of the time I’m just getting DVDs at thrift stores. I guess I could contribute on there even though it’s movies it’s just my own overthinking that nobody wants to see that. Even though I’m there to get DVDs I still do look around and there’s lots of interesting things. Personally though I’m not big on to many material things for the most part unless it’s practical. I’m the kind of person that is OK with having nothing on my walls and nothing sitting on top of my dresser and Furniture or tables. Sometimes I wonder if it goes back to something inside of me that has always been ready to leave On the drop of a dime. If I can’t put everything in a backpack and run out the door if something happens Then that means I have too much stuff. My mom has brought this up occasionally that I need to make my living Space more comfortable And be OK with buying things. I think I’ve talked to you before that one of my favorite writers is Jack Kerouac and he has a quote that says Basically… if you own a rug you own to much… I guess I didn’t need to say all of this stuff but I did. Everybody is different and I definitely understand the other side of this

Ps: I did buy this framed small photo of a supposed Marilyn Monroe mug shot but it was fake or she didn’t actually get arrested for that crime and they just took her face and photo shopped it on top of a Photo of somebody that did get arrested. It was pretty upsetting but not on a crazy level or anything. Just made me realize to do my research when I’m buying something. But I still keep it sitting on my desk because it’s kind of funny when I look at it now. I think she was arrested for something related to protesting or something but there was no actual mug shot photo of this. But I might be wrong on that crime or arrest if she had . I had this brief period Where I was thinking about starting to have a collection of 8 x 10 mugshots of famous people to put on my wall. Mug shots are interesting because when that photo is being taken it’s usually under extreme amount of stress or worry and it’s not a photo that anybody wants to have taken. I just find it interesting. And I know one thing if you see a Mug shot and somebody is smiling that means they have money to protect themselves because that’s a very bold move. You do not want the judge thinking that you don’t care about what you did or you find it funny. Either way it means you have money To get a really good lawyer or that means you’re crazy like Charles Manson crazy And you’re smiling because you don’t know the difference

Ohhh I am a Downton fan!!!

I’ve watched the whole series front to back twice. And there are constantly reruns on one channel or another in the UK. If by chance I switch through channels and see it’s on, I have to watch again.

There are also two feature length movies available that went big in UK cinemas. The third and final movie is on the way to bring the era of Downton to an end
UK cinema release will be September this year.

Watch out for Thomas Barrow… he has the best story arches throughout the whole series and movies.

I read about the movies last night I’m going to have to check them out when I finish the series. I just started season two I wish Bates would not have left! He is a good dude and fell victim to some toxic people and circumstances of his past. you probably know what I’m talking about and I don’t think you’ll tell me if he ends up coming back to work for them or not. Anyway after I finish season two I’m going to have to figure out if I’m going to get the rest of the show digitally or order more DVDs. Getting season one and two for five dollars was a steal. Thrift Stores are the best
