What’s up all. I haven’t checked in a bit. I switched from WW to ITra ckBites. 30 a month vs 30 a year sold me. Yeah, the app isn’t as polished as WW but that’s okay. I was on Green on WW which is called Sugar Smart on ITB. Things are going well. Last week I was down another 1.2. It usually fluctuates between being down 2, then up .8, then down .5, then down another 1, then up .5 repeat. As long as I keep tracking and hold myself accountable I will win. The weather is getting nicer so I’ll be walking more I usually do between 2,000 - 10,000 steps a day of we are being honestly. Keep up the good work everyone. You CAN and You WILL! Let’s GO!!

Checking in.
67 days at weight rang goal.
Weighed in at 196.6
I really felt good about weighing in since I feel like I did everything right this week, and I’m getting to know what I can and cannot eat and how much to maintain my weight. I could not do this while I was drinking. Duh
I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend. And don’t eat too many Peeps.
:pray:t2::heart:

In the last weeks I have used a step counter. It is very motivational. I try to walk 15.000 steps a day.
Weighed in this morning at 80.6 kg (178 lb). I have now lost over 25 kg (55 lb).
35 lb to go.

Today was weigh in day for me. Down one pound even, I’ll take that! Not as large of a loss then the last couple of weeks, but that’s ok. I fully acknowledge that it will vary and as I get closer and closer to my goal and my more normal weight, dropping 2-3 lbs a week just isn’t likely nor probably healthy. I’m in this for the long haul!

Goal weight: 120 lbs (to start)
So today’s weight (18 weeks): 128.6 lbs (-1lb)!
Last week’s weight (17 weeks): 129.6 lbs
Starting weight (Nov 30, 2020): 151.8 lbs
Overall weight loss total: 23.2 lbs!!

As for my exercising routine, I am thinking it’s time to mix it up again for the next 4 weeks. I’ve been pretty much doing the same routine (not the exact same routines or classes) for the last 5 weeks. So I think it’s time to shake things up. Im thinking I’m going to keep up with the walk/runs, the hikes (on higher inclines) and biking but go a little longer with some things and shorten some other things up etc. I’ll have to work on getting that figured out later today.

Today I’m thinking of doing either a 60 maybe 90 min ride (I did my first 90 min ride last Sunday), and a 20 min hike as well as some core work.

On a positive note, hubby and I got our 1st Covid vaccine appt Thursday evening. I must be honest that I am wondering how that will affect my daily workouts, but fully know side effects from the vaccines will be WAY better than experiencing Covid itself. Im just on an incredible roll. LOL! I know I’m being ridiculous, but I’m just being honest too with myself that those thoughts are going through my head.

Anyhoo! HAPPY EASTER all!!! Enjoy your day!!

I’m struggling. I’m becoming obsessed with numbers going down to the point of noticing some ED tendencies creeping in like skipping meals, extra long walks to burn calories, purging through laxative use. :weary:

But I don’t want to stop dieting because I NEED to lose weight.

I honestly don’t know how to diet in a healthy way.

:warning: POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING :warning:

I’m finding this too @VSue
Lost 3lbs since last weigh in so happy about that… BUT it’s all too fast, my hair is STILL falling out, I get all weird and panicky if I eat outside of my ‘window’ which is only 4 hours (two meals a day) I’m scared of carbs now  yeah… I wanted to eat an orange last night and you would have thought it was a lb of chocolate the way I reacted to it… so something is up with all of this and it’s not healthy… I’ve become so ridged with it.
Thing is, I was managing eating this way no problem and rarely felt hungry so I thought it was ok. But I feel like shit. Have done for months now but was blaming it on one thing or another, hair is falling out and I look unwell, like i have these bags under my eyes which have never been there before, skin looks a weird shade of grey/green… I feel faint walking up stairs or doing any kind of physical activity… I was cleaning my windows the other day and had to sit down :face_with_raised_eyebrow: What. The. Fuck. Any kind of real intentional exercise is out of the question.
It’s not good or healthy (no shit!). It’s weird but I look at myself in the mirror and although I have lost 35lbs I actually feel fatter than before, what’s up with that!? I thought maybe because before I lost weight I was big all over so it didnt stand out more but now I’m closer to my goal all the last lbs were sort of hanging off me making me appear bigger?? Idk… I’ve had issues with this since I was a kid, being the chunky one in my family, this got pointed out to me on a daily basis…

Anyway.

I’m going to extend my eating window (I’m sticking to IF because I really like it and it stops late night snacking) and increase carbs through things like sweet potatos and fruit (man I miss bananas!!) And hopefully that’ll increase my energy. I certainly haven’t been starving myself but I think the consistent large calorie deficit (not healthy to lose 6lbs in two weeks! Hower “yey! way to go!!” I or anyone else thinks it is) and restriction (I’ve pretty much ONLY been eating meat, vegetables/salad and eggs) is doing me no favours and my body is telling me so.

I’ll be ok. I’ve only got 7lbs left to lose which isnt a lot, I need to be able to exercise to look good or I’m just gonna look skinny fat (I starting to look like that now which I hate…) and I cant right now apart from walking, slowly :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

So I need to slow this down, fule my body properly and prevent any kind of disorder creeping in. (Or getting worse…)

As I said I still have 7lbs to lose but that’s not a lot and can easily chip away at that over time, visually it wont make much of a difference anyway.

It’s hard, so much of a balancing act. I got so focused on the weight loss I lost sight of everything else… it was telling myself things like “it’s not forever, just get the excess weight off then you can eat normally and exercise” (when I say normally I DON’T mean back to how i ate when i was over weight, i mean just healthy normally, like being able to eat an ORANGE without feeling guilty :expressionless: but theres damage being done somewhere within all of this, I’m glad that I can change it now before it gets worse.
Still sober, still want to be better but I’ve been going about it the wrong way.

I don’t post much on this thread, but I do lurk. I abused laxatives, it took YEARS to get back to normal, so please stop that asap. Obsessing over eating regular food is also not good. Especially if like you say u have only a tiny bit left to lose, focus on getting healthy eating habits back. For both of you, shifting the focus away from numbers, calories or weight, and onto a more holistic view is important. Are u eating a range of fruit and veggies? Are u exercising? Drinking enough water? tc

I know all this. I do. It’s just the mental battle. It’s a struggle I’ve had my whole life.

Exercise is also risky for me. I can very easily take that too far too.

It’s just trying to work out the balance. And that’s hard.

I hear u. We can know these things in our heads, and still do them.

Hello all.

Well this is interesting…
So I’ve been adding carbs back in (mostly fruit and a few potatoes) and changed my eating window from 4 hours to 7-8, feel much better for it! Within a few days my skin looked better and I have more energy. Maybe keto just isn’t for everyone? It was weird because overall I was enjoying it and didnt find it hard eating wise but my body had other ideas  (maybe because I’m Scottish and I need the oats??:rofl:)
Anyway… because I’ve been doing keto for a while now I fully expected to gain a few pounds this week just due to water retention from the carbs, and I was fine with it as I knew if I did it was only water weight anyway.
But I didnt! I actually lost 1lb this week :woman_shrugging::grin: so I’ve been scared of carbs all this time for nothing, the only changes have been positive AND I’m still losing weight. I honestly expected to gain 3-4lbs but nope :woman_shrugging: I’m still working within a calorie deficit (obviously) and its not all that different from my keto calories, I guess my body just prefers it this way.

Well, that was some dangerous trial and error and I dont recommend :grimacing::woman_facepalming:

Aaaaaaanyway…
36lbs down
Only 6lbs to go! :muscle:

Cant believe I’m so close to my goal now.
I’m going to continue to build my energy levels up and start an exercise plan next week, I think that’s why I’m not happy with how I look because I’ve done next to no exercise throughout all of this so my body doesn’t have much of a shape atm… but it’s fine I know what I need to do to get it. :muscle::muscle:

Hey Jen! I’m glad to hear the shifting in your diet seems to be working well for you, woohoo! Keto is something that is good (I follow it very loosely) but sometimes our bodies just needs carbs at times. I think it can cause our bodies to not stay fully balanced, but don’t quote me on that! I’m no dietitian or anything! So I somewhat cycle in and out of ketosis on a day to day basis. The only reason I actually know this is my hubby knows what ketones smell like! He is a veterinarian and can smell if a dog has diabetes before doing any necessary testing due to being able to smell the ketones on its breath. Not all people can smell them though I guess. So on a fairly regular basis he we let me know or I’ll ask him to check. Ha!

IF is also something I play with, but also I’m not totally strict or rigid with it. I will have my coffee with creamer and sugar in thr mornings, but then won’t eat something until at least after my first workout sometimes after 2 workouts. That could be as late at 2 or 3pm, sometimes 4pm, but I try not to wait THAT long because then I’m STARVING. We then try to eat by 8pm at the latest (it does fluctuate) and then I may have a couple handfuls of pistachios while watching TV but thats it until coffee time and then the late type lunch etc.

That is so AWESOME on the 1 lb lost and how close you are at achieving your goal weight!! You are a ROCK STAR! I forget, how long have you been at it with losing weight now where you’ve lost 36 lbs??

As for the exercising, I hope that goes GREAT for you once you start! It’s amazing how much stronger I’ve been feeling since I first began. Between losing weight and getting stronger it all has been such a great thing for me. I too am still not happy with how I look in my core and abs area, but that was my HUGEST trouble area, so it’s going to be the last place I’ll be happy with and the last place to really take strong form. I still have a fairly large layer of fat cover my abs so much so that when I’m in like a plank position it literally hangs down no matter how much I pull my abs in. Talk about hugely frustrating! But other than that the other areas are doing well. The 6 pack of abs is still many months away from shining through! But hopefully I’ll strip away the fat and they will show up with more time!

Anyway, I hope you have a great GREAT day!

I go to get my 1st Covid vaccine today and I’ve been trying to mentally prepare myself it might knock me down a notch or 2 with my workouts for a day or 2 (hoping NOT longer!) So I’ve been doing more than I usually would be this week just in case.

Haven’t posted on this thread in a while, but I hit another goal today and have been feeling good about myself :-). Went to try on dresses and I am down another size! It’s been exactly a year since I started working out, and as of today, I am down 80 lbs! It’s awesome how a few small changes to my lifestyle (and one big one–getting sober) have made me feel so much better about myself. Trying to build some muscle now, so I’ll be on this thread more often.

@Solanaceae I had something similar happen to me… I tried to cut down on carbs when I was getting healthy, but I LOVE carbs, so eventually I broke down and was eating a small homemade loaf of bread almost every day lol. To my surprise, the lbs kept coming off, and I felt way better! To each their own, I guess.

Oh I know what you mean about the stomach thing, mine does them same I have a pretty bad core tbh, looks fine when i stand up but that’s about it, it’s always been like that though then add a pregnancy into it and it’s been ruined ever since :laughing::laughing: but it is what it is, its not really something that gets me down as its always been squishy so I’m used to it.

Yeah I liked the keto diet but I suppose you start cutting this and that out then in the end you’re left with a very limited diet… first went the obvious carbs, then fruits, then I was being careful with things like tomatoes and carrots… then I cut out dairy… also with the IF, I heard the longer you fast the better, I couldnt do one meal a day so just have the two meals in a short window… BUT THEN I read that actually, long fasts arent good for women as it throws your hormones off and can affect fertility, thyroid etc… not that I want anymore children but I dont want my body thrown off balance either.

Hmmm how long has it took… well I started at the end of November really but then got thrown off track over Christmas and gained some back, I started again mid January and have lost 27lbs since then. I think :laughing:

Heres what I look like now (took this picture on sunday) and I managed to fit back into my “skinny shirt” which I was pleased about… but as you can see the buttons are pretty strained still so that last 6lbs needs to come off before I can wear it comfortably… I’d be worried I’d pop a button into someones eye if I wore it out and about right now. Ha!

Hey there! And yep, standing up it looks ok (not great but better nowadays since I don’t look pregnant!) but in plank position… FORGET IT! I should have taken a selfie yesterday, maybe I will today to share. I went and got my 1st Covid vaccine yesterday so I had to be fairly presentable… I usually stick with comfy clothes 100% when I’m home. So I tried on a pair of my old khaki capris (with a button and zipper… NOT elastic waistband) and THEY fit!! I was so excited!! YAY!! Talk about small milestones being such a mood booster!! All my hard work is starting to pay off slowly. Im so thankful. Today I’m going to take it a bit easier on my workouts. I was feeling really fatigued yesterday prior to my vaccine as I was pushing hard all week long in case I was feeling ick after my first dose. I had completed 8 hours of working out in 4 days, so today I think I will shoot for 1 hour (instead of 2) and rest up for more this weekend.

I hear ya about being strict keto. I don’t think I’d do that great on it if I had to be that regimented. It would be tough. I’ve heard similar things about IF. I’ve read about some doing multiple days worth of fasting which would never work for me since I do need some fuel every day to keep up with the exercising.

I too started end of November (quit alcohol a week and a half before weighing in for the first time) so that’s very cool! I’ll remember this time! Haha.

You seriously GREAT!!! I love your shirt by the way. I havent really tried to fit into any of my official “skinny” clothes yet and I don’t want to feel disappointed. I still have at least 8.6 lbs to go to get me to my initial goal weight of 120 lbs. Once there I may need to focus more on weight training to tighten my core more etc so I can fit into my skinnier clothes. My obliques need some serious whittling down more!! We will see how it all goes though!!

@LGC
Hello and CONGRATULATIONS on such HUGE success!!! WOW!! 80 lbs!! That is seriously amazing. So happy to hear you’re feeling so good about your self and you dropping a dress size!! Woohoo!!

You too are looking FABULOUS!! What a cute dress, I love it!

I’ve also heard that sometimes people can restrict their diets too such an extreme that that hinders them losing as much weight as they may want to… thinking that they have to eat less and less calories to such a deficit to lose weight when really they aren’t doing their body as good as if they were eating a bit more. Hope that makes sense!

Anyway, off I go to get on with my workouts today. My arm is very achy, so no lifting weights for me for a few days. Have a GREAT Friday all!!
