Hmmm so just looked at that and I’m wondering if I’m sorry if doing that already… I’ll explain what I do.

It’s kinda like a circuit that I just made up myself  but I used to do it years ago (when I was in good shape and making effort to take care of myself… which I’m trying to get back to…)

I’m obviously starting off lighter than before just until I get used to it and doing body weight exercises instead of using weights, again just until I get used to it.

So:
20× squats (body weight)
15x push ups (on knees… for now)
10× hip thrusts with 6kg dumbbell
10× tricep dips
30x crunches
10× shoulder press (4kg dumbbell, well one in each hand so 8kg all together)
30 second-1mins plank (aiming for 1 minute but dont always get there
10x bent over row with 4kg dumbbell

All of that 3x, each exercise straight after the other.
I should probably do lunges too but I hate those so I havent incorporated them yet

Do you think that’d be ok for now or any tips to tweak it to make it more effective?

Well everyone is different but here is my recommendation because you’ve done this before, you’re starting light the workout looks good because you’re essentially working out each group and doing a full body workout which is perfectly fine :slightly_smiling_face:

Once you start becoming more comfortable (once you notice you’re workouts become easier for you) I would recommend splitting your groups up so you focus on specific body parts on certain days for instance I like to do my chest and back or chest and triceps in the same day because when you bench press you work out the triceps , working out the exact same body parts each day leads to more chance of an injury you could even split things up so one day you have a lower body then an upper body then a full body workout but get comfortable then when you’re ready experiment :muscle:

The beauty of working out is everyone is different and everyone has different goals and there is no one way, I like body building exercises someone else may prefer crossfit, if it’s working for you stick with it and just working on adjusting and tweaking as you go. I would recommend adding deadlifts into your routine since it is a great compound exercise for your lower back and depends on how you lift them, as well bench press because I notice you didn’t have a chest exercise in there (incline, flat, butterflies) but you can do all that with dumbbells it will work your isolator muscles and it doesn’t need to be heavy for it to work. I think sticking to 3 sets right now is a good plan as well eventually as you progress add more sets but focus on those 3 sets that you’re trying to be 100% effort into each set . And yes that is supersetting less break time inbetween it helps when you’re trying to squeeze a workout in! :slightly_smiling_face: glad to know thought that you know what you’re doing prior though

Lost 26 pounds since last August while drinking. 36 days into sobriety I’ve gained 7 of it back. Need to re-focus on my diet.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :hugs: I very much appreciate the Happy Mother Day wishes!! Also thank you for the congrats! It feels so good to continue to see progress especially when I put in hours of work and then see results. It’s very satisfying that what Im doing is working. I doubted myself for so long which kept me drinking and getting bigger, because of the sheer size of the daunting task of trying to change my life and body for the better seemed so out of reach. But here I am 5 months later closer to my goal and only 8 lbs away (from my new adjusted goal weight no less, achieving my initial goal weight already). I would never been able to get to this point if I never quit drinking 100%. By me quitting I was able to think clear headed and put in the hard work. Basically get off my lazy ass and put in the time. LOL! Anyway, thanks as always for the positiveness!! It helps me more than you ever will know. And although I didn’t get a workout in yesterday as we were super busy and I ate not the bestest, I’m starting a new week and going to get my dining room, hallway and kitchen prepped, primed and painted before Friday. I have a lot of spackling to do and all that, but I’ll get it done. I can tell you I would never had been able to do all this drinking as much as I use to. No way! I just need to make sure I get some of my workouts in too, just not sure yet how it’ll all pan out. If the workouts aren’t as extreme or as long (2 hours a day!) There will be a new week right around the corner to reset and go for it once I get the painting all completed. I want to get it done before our daughter comes back on Friday since everything is all disarayed and I need to run her butt around to and from school etc. Anyway enough rambling for now, time to get to work!

It’s hard not to worry about missing your workouts. Especially with all the success you’ve had. I’ve learned I’m an expert at starting over. As long as I don’t take too much time off. And the way your working around the house will burn calories too. I’m burning calories just reading about all the work you do around the house. My wife would never let me do all the stuff you’re doing. My work around the house is to “Call The Man” or “Woman” we’ve learned the hard way. Now we avoid me screwing up and go right for “The Man or Woman”. Which I will be doing this week for some repairs around the condo :grimacing:
I’ll be weighing in later :crossed_fingers: after walk and workout at the Y.
I’m starting over myself at the Y Mon. Wed. And Fri. I can walk to it and it just opened up by appointment and we kind of have the place to ourselves. Slow and easy workouts. Do not get hurt Eric! That’s one thing I really hate. Having to start over because I over did it starting over. I think now that I’m gone 60 I’ve finally learned my lesson :grimacing:

Weigh in at 196.2
I’m so freaking happy :scream: !!!
I really can’t believe it  Since I been in Santa Monica I been going out a lot but trying to order healthy and the weight kept creeping up and I really didn’t want to weigh myself but BAM :boom: Lower end of weight range! I really don’t understand it, but I’ll take it. I understand one thing. This ain’t possible if you’re drinking every day and night. No it’s not!!
:pray::heart:

Fresh berries and leftover chicken from Forma for lunch.

So I accidentally got my booked class times mixed up and I turned up at 8am an hour early , so she swapped me to the 8am class with an instructor im yet to have a class with. It was a male. And he was brutal lol ! He kept correcting me and he sounded like an army boot camp Sargent lol :joy: he was also Brazilian and talked very fast so I was having trouble understanding him lol. I was almost in tears from the burn pain and I was just so confused because it felt like I was being yelled at lol :joy: but by the end of the class I was red as a beetroot and sweating like a MF lol :joy: so its made me think, were the other classes to easy for me coz I didnt burn as much or sweat as much ? I am proud of myself for sticking the class out and not walking out coz there were many moments where my thighs literally would not work and I was a wobbling jelly blob lol :joy: can’t wait to wake up tomorrow to see how my muscles like me :joy:

Where I go there’s 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 classes. Maybe that was one of the harder ones.
I’m proud of you, girl!

Thanks for the awesome reply. I’m still worrying and fretting but I’m trying not to about missing or even doing less of my workouts this week, but pressing forward and getting stuff done! I need to balance better and need to live a little because life keeps on going and not everything revolves around my workouts! I guess the one way it would was if I got paid for exercising HA! I WISH!! Im trying to keep an open and fresh mind that I wouldn’t be redoing so much so quickly if I was still drinking and I’m certainly accomplishing a lot. That feels good! Hubby actually got a dumpster order for when he is off for a week at the end of May so we can clean out our basement. We’ve been talking on and off for YEARS about moving so purging needs to happen if we are ever going to get to seriously considering a move! He only has less than 5 months left on his job commitment and then he won’t be tied there, so we will be open to move or not after that! The sky is the limit!!

Anyway, thank you so much for your continued encouragement. I know I’m staying active and burning calories too with thr work around the house, but it doesn’t quite feel like an intensive workout that I walk away from huffing and puffing in a pile of sweat either. It just feels satisfying when. I get those types of workouts in. I must be a weirdo! Haha. Part of the thing too with me painting and such around the house, it gives me a sense of ownership and making it our own sorta kinda. See, we currently live I the house my hubby and his ex bought when they had their 1 daughter and his ex was pregnant with their 2nd child. Those 2 kids are now almost 24 and 20 1/2! So, over the years I had to work through some issues and overcome some mental blocks associated with that. I’m good now with it, but now I want to get the house really nice. It’s kind of silly and hard to do with all our animals, but Im trying! When we drank ALL THE TIME we never did anything. So it’s WAY overdue.

Wow, that is so cool about going back to the Y! I hope you enjoy that!! Oh and just one more for good measure… BE CAREFUL ERIC! HAHA!

Also, what a way to SLAY it with maintaining your weight!!! WOOHOO!!! I can feel your excitment!! I would be over the moon too. Like for example of I can stay the same this week or even lose a little for my Sunday weigh in as I’m not doing 2 hours of strict workouts, I too will be shouting it from the hill tops. Next week I’ll more than likely be back to my 2 hours a day. So I’ll probably catch up, but still!

Gonna need to start checking in here. I haven’t weighed this much since pregnancy. I have 63 days off of alcohol, but I am eating too much ice cream every night. Have thirty pounds to lose.

Morning all!! Congratulations to everyone hitting their goals :muscle::muscle::muscle:

I’ve been feeling AWFUL these past dew days, truly terrible. I think it might have been a bug of some sort looking back on it :weary:
Been sleeping well these past few nights and seem to be picking up now thankfully.
I didn’t do any weights yesterday as planned because I felt so bad I didnt want to exert myself anymore than needed but I did get an hour long walk in which made me feel better and I’m going out for a hike today with a friend so still staying active, eating very well although still in a deficit (aim for 1500 cals a day max)

Weigh in today and I’ve lost 1lb this past week :muscle: so a nice steady weight loss which I’m happy about.

Just trying to take care of myself mentally and physically. Been meditating using biaural beats which help with my anxiety and mood, overall feel better today than I have in a few weeks so I’m hoping the feel good continues up and up!!
It’s so frustrating when you know you’re going everything right but yet you still feel like crap  like come on life what else do I have to do!?

Stats;
44lbs lost.
5lbs left to go :muscle:

Oh and also at almost 4 months sober too

Have a good day all :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::sunglasses::muscle:
