What’s your favorite nonalcoholic drink?

What is your go to drink ?!! For some reason I really started liking watermelon flavor about six months ago. It started with Minute Maid watermelon which was good because I was craving sugar like crazy when I first quit drinking. But then I realized I had too much sugar and probably no watermelon. So now I buy actual watermelon juice. I’m not sure why but I really like watermelon flavor now. I have tried maybe 10 brands and different kinds. One day I would like to make my own that’s a combination of watermelon juice and water. I don’t think I will have caffeine in it. But maybe just some vitamins. Is there anything that you guys started drinking a lot after you quit?

Interesting… I never had that brand or flavor. I’m pretty sure it’s at Walmart I will give it a try. Usually sparkling waters I buy the Lacroix… They are way more refreshing than soda. It’s almost like I have to find a bunch of drinks that I didn’t use as chasers… Like watermelon juice

Carbonation and no calories. Being a massive former beer drinker the carbonation really hits the spot.

Sparkling water with nice cordial. I love Vimto… Yes I’m a child :rofl::rofl:
Love herbal tea, chai, mint tea
A couple of good coffees a day; Ethiopian beans are lush.
La Croix
Really cold ice water

That’s a lot of delicious beverages. I just looked up the vimto?? Says it’s juice from grapes and other fruit and it’s from the United Kingdom. I love trying new stuff!

Lots of carbonated water, all different flavors. I actually bought a soda stream and have been making my own. Ginger beer is nice, but I am doing sugar free right now so I havent had that in a while. When I was first sober I would crave the intensity of alcohol and I found that slamming a can of tonic water would curb those severe cravings I had.
This winter I have settled into some really nice herbal teas, they are fun and lots of cool flavors to try.

Endless, flavorless sparkling water. My husband actually installed a 10lb airtank in my kitchen to make it the most cost effective and because this is one habit he supports. I got into some trouble with energy drinks once I first got sober but have since stopped consuming those. I was drinking 3 energy drinks a day. Just shows how I can easily become hooked to things

Thanks for the suggestion!

Don’t know if you can get that where you are, but zevia also makes an actual ginger beer sweetened with only stevia

Yeah definitely is phases. I was making a ridiculous amount of coffee but then I didn’t like the way it made me feel. Because for me drinking coffee feels like being in a car chase. Then I switched to black tea, Then green tea…
Now I have this watermelon drink obsession…

Lemonade is also really good but it’s like watermelon juice it’s hard to find one that isn’t Too sugary

Wow, it’s relieving to read all the various drinks everyone’s been into upon getting sober. Makes me feel less crazy, and I guess that’s why we share!
I feel like I am injesting all day long, like an extreme oral fixation. I drink a ton of black coffee, cold tea, an Athletic Greens drink mix I like, and I love kombucha (although I know there can be mixed feelings on that one). I could never get into seltzer water.

I was actually going to ask about kombucha. I love it too but haven’t had any since I quit drinking because I believe it says it contains trace amounts is alcohol. I was wondering if it would cause issues for me.???

The amount of alcohol in kombucha is very low, just like NA beer. So really it would depend on you and your tolerance to the minimum amounts of alcohol.

Okay thanks. Perhaps I’ll wait a bit to try having any… But any other advice out there would be helpful I’d love to know anyone else’s experience with it. Thanks

Kombucha is fermented tea. Some brands have like you said very small amounts called trace amounts. I personally stay away from it because sometimes I can notice the alcohol in it. This is just my story I’m not willing to risk any amount of alcohol even 0.5 %. everybody’s recovery is different… I believe there is some brands that don’t have any alcohol at all inside kombucha.
