What’s your favorite nonalcoholic drink?

Some brands of kombucha have 0.5%… If you haven’t drank in a while you’ll definitely notice that. It’s not even worth that little mind twist. Maybe there’s brands that have 0%. But at the end of the day kombucha is supposed to be Fermented tea. If you’re doing it for the probiotics there is other ways to get probiotics

Don’t get me wrong, kombucha is really good for your gut health and is pretty delicious. I was just stating the fact that there IS alcohol in it. It’s a byproduct of the fermentation process… But I love it! It’s expensive, but you only need one a day.

You can do kinda the same thing by putting a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in your water. If that’s what you’re looking for. If you’re just looking for something that tastes good, go with my go to, the Clear American sparkling water.

Okay great thanks so much! I’ll look for some that doesnt contain any alcohol at all. I wasn’t sure if that existed but I’ll take a look. I really do have a super addictive personality and am sensitive to things so a little bit might set me off especially in the beginning.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I used to drink a ton of it I actually made my own at home. It’s quite a process so I stopped making it but still bought it occasionally and you’re right it is expensive to buy. I’ll try the apple cider vinegar thing! Thank you so much

Because the apple cider vinegar is a probiotic? Or does similar things for gut health?

Evidence suggests it could possibly offer health benefits, such as:

  • aiding weight loss
  • reducing cholesterol
  • lowering blood sugar levels
  • improving the symptoms of diabetes

Not necessarily a probiotic…

I’m looking for alternatives as well because I didn’t think it was a big deal but then I realized how many times I bought Kombucha for a hangover when I had to go in to work. Probably not a good idea for me To be drinking that. The health benefits of the probiotic are definitely noticeable. But I think with 10 months I would definitely notice That 0.5 in the kombucha …

I know there’s other probiotic drinks that I’ve found before mainly at whole foods… Don’t know if you have that where you are. I was mainly drinking kombucha because I like it and not for the probiotics but I know there are a lot of other probiotic drinks you can buy that don’t contain any alcohol too. I use apple cider vinegar a lot in salad dressings but I haven’t tried mixing it with a sparkling water or anything like that. I’m going to experiment tonight :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face: I know if I have too much apple cider vinegar It can upset my stomach and it’s also best to drink it through a straw because it is so acidic and not great for your teeth.

I have been drinking kombucha regularly since quitting drinking 18 months ago. It was the only thing that felt similar and satisfying enough for me until the cravings subsided some more - but it’s so expensive and I’d like to find something else I like. At around 6 months sobriety I came across something mentioning alcohol traces in kombucha and it scared the shit out of me! I called my sponsor immediately and she was reassuring. She doesn’t drink it herself but it’s pretty common in the recovery circles she’s in and some of the AA secretaries, other guys she admires with lots of time drink kombucha. I felt reassured in the sense that I didn’t suddenly lose my “proud time” but of course it’s also important to pay attention to whether the drink is triggering to your recovery, somewhat like NA beer can be for others.

Definitely relate to what you’re saying. Congratulations on your time and thank you for adding your input. I agree that it’s up to every single person. Your recovery is your own. I guess you will know whether you’re sensitive to it or not… It’s good that you know what you can and can’t handle

So glad we had this conversation because it just reminded me about this drink called kiveta. I loved it they have lots of flavors. I looked it up and it does say it’s verified alcohol free but don’t quote me on that because I’m going to do more research to make sure. I’ll try to attach a photo in the next post it’s not letting me add it now…

That is a good one! I forgot about that
I believe there is a couple brands that are verified nonalcoholic. If not it’ll say 0.5% on the back because anything more than that it’s considered actually alcoholic
