I figured another thread to pass the time. Why not? Ok so name something your good at. And then something your not. This could be interesting
Good~ I’m a good cook. I love cooking but haven’t done it as much since getting sober. It triggers me… I’m working on changing that. I’m planning a dinner for Sunday. I’m gonna have some fresh apple cider on hand. I’m looking forward to it.
Bad~ Driving. And I mean anything cars, golf carts, sleds! don’t matter! It can be a little scary!
I think I’m a good singer, but I’m the only one who thinks that, definitely a good driver, good friend and good listener. Very bad at forgiveness if you wronged me personally and bad at accepting selfishness and self importance.
When i think about what I’m good at, only 2 things come to mind.
Spreadsheets and writing music.
And the thing I’m bad at? Replying to emails, IM/DM, text messages etc. It’s not that I don’t want to reply, or am not replying because I’m ignoring you, often ill see the message when I am unable to respond, then I forget about it and when I remember, its been days and I feel embarrassed to reply so late. Stupid I know.
I’m totally opposite Courtney. I’m a great driver, my husband teases me saying that’s why he married me (except when I drove drunk into a pole). I can’t cook if my life depended on it. I caused 2 kitchen fires so I’m banned. One of them put us in a hotel for a year while we rebuilt our house.
Omg Lisa! Can’t believe you had fires although the I’m kinda surprised I haven’t somehow lit the car on fire! Haha that will be next! I’ve had a few “run ins” with walls and such
Good at: Talking, listening, writing, playing, being creative, memorize unnecessary facts, movie lines, song texts, book quotes. Adapting.
Bad at: Socializing, I’ve got about the same real life social skills as Sheldon Cooper in big bang theory.
Also bad at following rules and norms, feeling at home anywhere and find the joy in everyday life.
Good sense of humor
Bad…can be impatient with my spouse’s hearing loss. I have to explain things to him all the time and he has a very hard time understanding what people say on the phone and during Zoom meetings. It’s exhausting. He seems to like to talk more than he listens now. Yes, he has hearing aids. That’s a whole nother story with more problems to vent. Sorry about the rant. At least he’s asleep now and the house is quiet.
More good things… I’m a very good driver.
Good - dog training/connecting with dogs. Always been really good with animals in general. A few years ago an old friend called me “Irish César Millán” Dogs especially just listen to me and we develop an understanding and a bond very quickly. A few of the town workers that see me with Chief every morning at the field have asked if I train dogs…maybe I have a possible side hustle opportunity here…
Bad - staying up past 9pm, and “taking it easy”…work in progress, smiling w/ my teeth
