whats every ones thing to do when they have the urge to drink?
Mines not drinking it’s narcotics but honestly I do hair … 15 years at that so really my clients are what help me stay accountable . I don’t have family so they are !
Reading the book of Proverbs always helps relax me and focus my mind.
Pausing, physically change whatever I’m doing to something different, call my sponsor, and/or hit the gym if I can! Sometimes I say a phrase to myself if it’s something external triggering a stress-based craving, like “Not my job” “Not my business” “I can’t control (X)”
I would change what I was doing at that moment. Start doing something else and the brain has to change tack to compensate. This distracted me enough.
Also just ride the wave, cus by doing that you get used to dealing with being uncomfortable.
